I'm looking at buying an RS6, not had one for a few years and now need to get one due to family commitments which means the M5 is just not practical!
The one i'm looking at is a 2016 (June) car, it was very highly spec'd from new with a retail price of £116k ie dull carbon pack, performance edition, dynamic pack plus with ceramics, alcantara headlining pano roof, exclusive paint, night vision etc etc. The owner then spent 5k on PPF for the entire car and another 8k on a Akrapovic exhaust. The issue is that it's a high spec but it's done big miles ie 33k in 2 years which makes it hard to price.
It's for sale at 71,995 which i think he's having a laugh at. The issue is that he's not prepared to budge much and in my mind thats a 60k car (tops!) but i wanted to see if i'm wrong and he's right or if you guys think it's perhaps worth less than my estimate? Webuynaycar offer 49k for it, most Audi dealers seem to suggest a retail price between 55-60k.

This being the purple car.....seen the advert. I'd seen it advertised somewhere else, prior to where it is now. Personally, it's way over priced, exhaust and PPF, nice to haves, but not changing the market value of the car. To put it into perspective, mine listed to £93k - I paid 5k more than the asking price for yours with 100miles on the clock and was 8 weeks old.

I sold my previous 2015 RS6 with 39kmiles on it for £50k

I'd keep looking.

High spec that desirable in a market that’s tight as there’s no new cars back filling. I don’t think it’s a 60k car, I’d be nearer the ask on the table. Miles pretty irrelevant IMO. This isn’t a Ferrari 250.

It is a very good price that it is being offered for, don't think that you will find a better RS6 for the money. It has absolutely everything on that car
The retail price you have been quoted will be for non-performance model RS6s that tend to be lower spec. Not seen an RS6 performance for less than £60k so far.

Plenty of Performance models on auto trader for 60k or less. One with ceramics and only 8k on the clock.
But yes, this is a very highly specced car. There is a thread on here from when he first bought it trying to spot what options were missed (I think there was only 1 or 2). Most options lose all their value on a second hand car but I think with this many of the big options you could probably expect someone to pay a bit more than normal. Not sure it's worth 72k though. 65k may be a fairer price although I have very little signal at the minute to check what level of car / spec / mileage is being advertised at that price nowadays.

And although I don't think the PPF or Akra add anything to the actual value they do make it easier to sell. And if you are not a fan of the Akra you can sell it on for 3k thereby effectively reducing the price you pay for the car by 3k.

High 60's i'd say, the market is going up every month right now so I think he'll achieve that in the next 3-4 months, if you like it, buy it.

Yep that was it, no B&O. And horrible round steering wheel. And I don't like the seat colour either. That would be enough to stop me buying it.

I’ve always found the heated round wheel to be at odds with specing the dynamic plus pack - should be the square bottom wheel.

Thanks all, so what you are all saying is the value of the car is down to the person that wants it. The issue is, giving circa 70k for it means I’d probably take a 10k bath if I needed to sell it tomorrow which I’m not prepared to do no matter how many options it has on it.

It certainly a well spec'd car that should have been reasonably well cared for. I paid similar money for mine back in Feb with the Akra exhaust but no ceramics and no full car ppf and a slightly lower spec (no alcantara headliner / night vision), but a lot lower miles (7K). It's probably the best car on the market at the moment for spec. All things considered I would have said it's in the £65 - 70K field...

Only data point I can add is I bought mine 3 months ago and there was a c.8-10k premium for a PE. I paid 55 for non PE

I’ve also been keeping an eye on the market ready to get back to RS6 ownership.

The asking prices are too high IMHO. One car, 67plate with a great spec and low miles up at £79k and has been sat there for 3 weeks.

The same car was also priced between £71k, £74k and £77k by the owner and two other garages.

Given the new A6 model is imminent and yes the next RS6 is a few years away, these prices are not attractive especially as I bought a brand new car back in 2015 for not much more than the 67 plate car.

I’ll let someone else take a bath and keep watching the market ready for the price corrections to come.

I think you can knock off 3-4k off asking price at best. For me the ceramics are a winner, and would value them at 5-7k for a car of that age(am also aware that maintaining them is an expensive proposition!!). Problem with other PEs is that they are specc'd with standard brakes, and although l haven't experienced the standard brakes, l think the ceramics are the way to go. In my opinion, the current market prices are a guide. Actual price you pay is determined by how much you value certain attributes.
Mine are:

Performance Edition - YES
Ceramics - YES
Night vision - YES
Heads Up Display - YES
360 cameras - YES
Panoramic roof - Not a fan, so wouldn't pay extra for that
Adaptive cruise control/lane assist - had use of a Golf R with the feature, very desirable
Steel springs - Not sure l would swap Adaptive air suspension for that, so not willing to pay extra for that,
Speed limiter removed (174 mph or the higher 189mph) - Not sure it's worth it. Even 155mph in an RS6 is scary but l can understand why others would like that ('mine are bigger than yours' pub talk, e.t.c),

Bought mine for £80k last Nov with 6k miles on the clock and only 6 months old (17 reg. - list price when new - £107k). To me that that was good value but to others probably not so.
I suppose, it's down to: what do you want and what's available. Also factor in the fact that you are NOT 'specc'ing' for the factory but someone else's original preference.
I personally am not a fan of after market mods. but that's just me...

Also, apart from the technology on offer, the new body design for the new A6 Avant - Audi, what was that?!
