Hi all,

I just wondered how long over you can go over on an oil change.

I had a message pop up stating oil change in 1500 miles/29 days but the first inspection is in 3500 miles/95 days. I have been quoted the oil change for £431 and service (inc. oil change) £625. If I do it separately it will be £722.

I don't see the point in paying for an oil change twice in 3 months but if I service it early does that mean I will need to get its next service 3 months earlier next year?

No just do both at same time then they will reset the counter. I did this last year had inspection which was due few thousand miles after oil service.

You should change oil every 15000 km

Sounds pricey, assume under 3 years old?

Inspection on mine in June at 2 years = £260.

Oil change - supply your own oil (£80 from Opie for 10 liters of Shell Helix 0W 30) and just pay for the labour and filters (£140ish).

Should be looking at £480 ish total.

This is for oil change and pollen filters only (I think)

Car is 20 months old on 15k miles, this is the first service.

I called 6 dealers in the north west and this was the cheapest, all others close to £600 or over.
