Standard or performance model

Post by Smarttech » Wed Oct 17, 2018 8:15 am

Hi all, just looking at changing my car and really want an RS6 but wanted to know what the difference is between a standard model and performance model apart from a bit more power and the wheels.
What do I get from a performance model for the extra cash over the standard model.

Having moved from a Standard to a PE model - for me it was worth the change, though I was happy with my std car for 18months...just the mileage was creeping up and liked the PE every time I saw one...

More power, though only really noticeable when "making progress"
Nicer wheels and not bendy, as some of the owners with the other 21" wheels have found
Other little bits for me are the 1/2 alcantara seats with the blue stitching
The carbon fibre with the blue weave

Either model you get you won't be disappointed - if you haven't had an RS6 before, then what you have never had, i.e the increased bhp and alcantara you won't miss.

Get one bought!!!!!!

The Performance has the following options fitted as standard:
Privacy glass
Titanium trim (or no cost option to go for one of the other optic packs except carbon, but that is 1k cheaper than normal as the titanium optic pack is already included)
21" wheels
Sports exhaust
More seat options and interior options ie alcantara with blue stitching and blue carbon trim
And more power and torque with red boost gauge when overboosting

Will the PE's hold their long term value more like the C5 Plus versions do we think?

I've had both, feel the same to me tbh both great cars, maybe the PE feels that bit quicker when the boost is at sweet spot, maybe this the PE Will always be a more desirable car so hold the premium edge aftermarket . As others have said you won't be disappointed either way, I was in a friends 14 plate standard car the other day high mileage 70k and it felt really nice .

I’d say that there’s plentiful volume of both, PE is not a limited run as the Plus’s were, that there not going to be a material premium.
