My RS6 ownership is already over - What next?

My C7 RS6 has officially been rejected and accepted back by the supplying dealer.
A short summary on my ownership;
The car had a gearbox issue 29 days after I brought it, going in and out of 4th gear caused the car to shake quite violently.
A gearbox software update apparently fixed it but my local dealer found a few issues with the car that were not sorted when I brought it as an AUC RS6, totalling up to £2,600 worth of work, I only had the car for 6 weeks before it went to Audi Birmingham where it has remained since. This still hadn’t been approved and now their aftersales manager back from leave, he has accepted my rejection and will take the car back.
It’s been a short yet fun/memorable experience. I only had it a few weeks but did 2500 miles in it, drove 400 miles of country roads in Belgium/Luxembourg & Germany and enjoyed it a lot.
Home in the U.K. is Birmingham, not to far from Tyseley. Reading Eddie’s thread about his RS6 being stolen at gun point was always something I had to consider when I moved back. I have a 1yr old son and also not to far from where the A3 was stolen with a baby inside (Birmingham hey!).
This kinda rules out buying another RS6 to replace it, and leads to the question of what next??
Is a B8(?) 2015 RS4 a good car to replace the RS6 with less attention or the same?
How about an E63 AMG estate? I also looked at M6GC’s but ruled them out for their heavy depreciation.
I also have an R33 GTR but that’s a long term project and want something that is fun, quick and able to lug me and my small family about, which the RS6 is perfect for!
I won’t dissappear from here yet, as the RS6 itch still remains, I might just wait and see what the C8 RS6 is like..

That’s a shame buddy. What to replace it with will be a very very hard decision to make. Once you’ve had the ultimate beast there isnt anything that will do the same job. That’s why I’ve something completely different to do the main job (carting the family around) and I’m yet to get a toy for the play days. Something for track and the need for speed days.

Why not find another C7? B8 won't feed the urge for me.

Thats what I'd says, everything else in this league isn't going to stack up to a C7 . If you can handle the 4 seater then Pan Turbo maybe I'd say I was close to having one . Or if you want a big unit go for the RR SVR lots of fun ! (In a straight line) decent deals about .
Ps. The C8 is a mile out.

I don't think any of the cars you mentioned are any less risk than an RS6. As you said, the car that was stolen with the baby in the back was an A3. Any newish German car is a risk if you ask me.

Completely agree Mike, maybe it’s the stigma an RS6 has and similar cars being stolen, Tom Hartley’s wife had her RS6 stolen a few years back about 15 minutes from my house too.
My wife’s car is ‘16 GTD and same risk there, the plate has been cloned on it already and we once had the entire M20 southbound get blocked and 7 or 8 police cars stop us thinking we were the thieves..
The key is left in a faraday bag at home.
I tried a new RRSS last year and it’s just to soft, whatever car is my daily has to fairly “sporty”. I daily drove my R35 GTR for 18 months, same with my old R34 GTR, R33 GTR, E60 M5, E93 M3, 996 Turbo etc. Gives some background to my cars and what I am use too. My current R33 GTR will become the weekend/track car once it’s complete, chassis work booked for Spring next year as they rust a lot, end goal is to have 600bhp from it using a forged 2.8l engine with V-Cam and a big ‘ol single turbo bolted on!
I haven’t ruled another C7 RS6 yet, I still need to scratch that itch, it really is a perfect all rounder bar the MPG, something the GTD skewed for me as it returns 45mpg. If I do get another, I might just save some more and go for a ‘16 PE.
The funny thing is, I brought a GT Sprit 1:18 model of an RS6 last week and it’s waiting to be opened up at home, shame the model will never met the real car

For what it is worth (and think i mentioned it on here in the past) but....
Sadely money wish an RS was slightly out of the question (at least a full spec one and new) but also the theft issue was in the back of my head (altough i'm from Belgium and luckly i'm in a good region where it isn't a pest yet).
I ended up buying a (second hand) S6 C7 avant with most specs i wanted (ceramic breaks for example). Running stage 2 (so more even more fun then a stock rs).
Outside i added bit my own touches, still not as beasty as a RS but imho a perfect sleeper.

Ah where about in Belgium are you? I live round the corner from Josaphat Park in Brussels

- buying a nice car in Belgium sure is expensive!

That one I’ve posted is at the old Porsche garage in dorridge. I might go and look at it myself.

I will own one of those one day. I used to have a 156 gta for many years and waited a long time for it's replacement. Unfortunately the waiting time for one was too long when I ordered my RS6. One day though...

Yes familiar with the garage, I remember seeing a Carrera GT there when they were first released.
