Quiet beeping when locking car

Hi,

Recently my car has started making 3 short quiet beeps when the car switches off and locks - its very strange and i'm pretty sure its not done it until recently.

I can't see any warnings on the dash and nothing obvious. It sort of sounds like its coming from the bonnet area - but hard to tell as the volume is low.

Any ideas what it might be or indicate?

Thanks!

here is a video as well - you can just hear the 3 beeps at the end when the mirror are finishing folding

i'm baffled!

Can't hear anything on that video, but could it be a low battery warning for the alarm?

You don’t have anything plugged in to the USB ports that beep when they lose power? Like a dash cam recorder?

Sounds like the valves on the exhaust closing

I can hear something, but it is overpowered by the sound of your door mirrors folding. Try turning the mirrors off and listen again.

Edit: when you remotely close the tailgate it makes a 3 toned blip maybe it’s a problem there.

thanks all - will try and get a quieter environment to record

Nothing plugged into USB port except for a hard disk with music

@Eddie - i didn't think you could close the tailgate remotely?

Press and hold the remote whilst standing at the rear of the car.

Only works if you have advanced key or modified it with VCDS or similar. Plus you can be anywhere in range of the car not necessarily at the rear but need ignition off I think.

My RS6 might have been a bit temperamental. It only worked while I was standing behind it.

Advanced key remote boot closing requires the fob to be detected with a couple of feet of the rear of the vehicle.

Ok well I can close the boot remotely so I learnt something new!

However the beeps that the closing routine does are a lot louder than than the others I’m hearing. Still stumped.

I also learnt today that wearing polaroid sunglasses renders the head up display useless!

I don't have advanced key but I can close the boot from the maximum range that the key works from.

Mike it must be cause you have reprogrammed yours to do it. I wasn’t imagining it because I tried the Q7 today and 1 step forward beyond the rear bumper standing by the rear quarter panel and it doesn’t work, if I step back just past the rear bumper and it’ll shut. Actually it’ll shut at the range distance as long as you’re behind the car, it just doesn’t work anywhere in front. It must have something to do with being able to see what’s in the boot area.

Yeah though that might be the case but that's what I thought the loud beeps were for.
