Hi All,

I have been having some issues with stop/start system not functioning and emissions light coming on. Had it diagnosed as above however the quote to replace the thermostat is for 6-7 hours work plus parts.

Has anyone undertaken this task or seen a how to writeup?

Many thanks

This is interesting reading what issues are you having with the start/stop?

Message on dash that start stop function not available. I believe the emissions light comes on due to mixture, every time the light is on there are circa 100 of the above faults and 1 mixture fault on lambda probe.

Thermostat are normally a very simple Swap but without engine diagrams etc I am reluctant to tackle it.

Mines stock and 42000 miles and had the start/stop fault and logged a coolant fault, they gone now now that I drive it everyday,I read somewhere with everything on these cars the batterie can start to drain and throw some faults, also when it goes into 4 cylinder mode the alternator can shut it’s self off because it uses more fuel to run it all the time

So what causing a problem then?

Mine is the original battery still, looking back on invoices a new battery was quoted last year but wasn’t fitted. I’m going to get mine tested see if that is the cause interesting.
