Anyone experienced this issue and/or resolved?

Google maps for the nav was working perfectly. Now the download hangs as the picture below. SIM is full of data allowance and all other online services working fine. Audi did recently refresh subs to online traffic and my only guess is this has ballsed up something.

Mine is hanging too. Had to go back to regular maps so I can see where we are meant to go!

I didn't even know you could do this...?

How do I activate it? Do I need a sim in the car?

You do need a sim with data allowance. You select the google map type in the NAV settings screen. Keen to hear if a general problem with others; I’ve been sitting in my car on the drive all weekend trying to fix it. My my neighbours probably think my Mrs has thrown me out.

Thanks. I'll get a sim tomorrow and try to use it and update you.

I played with the settings today and also noticed race track timers and boost indicators. Very cool. Wish I would have seen it last week when I took her on the track!

You need a full sized sim. Depending on location you may need to validate in a phone first. I used a three pay as you go sim here in the UK. Validated the micro sim in my iPhone and then snapped it back into the full sized sim ‘template’. The sim goes in between the SD card slots in the MMI unit in the centre console (in my pre face lift car anyhow).

Just got Audi UK on the online chat. Google Maps not downloading is impacting all Audi customers - they are working to fix. Advice is to check back in a couple of days.

Yep, the what you should expect given current issue with Audi Connect and Google Maps feed. I see your google sign in the bottom right hand corner illuminated so should work fine when Audi sort the issue.

I've had no issues with it over the weekend and did a lot of miles and some on roads I'd never been on before.

For anyone else reading this, before you rush out and buy SIM cards, this is an optional extra so you might not be able to use it. Cars without the option will not have a SIM card slot in the dash

So, another call to Audi UK today given some folks on here not having issues which discounts previous advice it was a system wide outage. So new AUDI stance is there is no system wide issue and what was mentioned yesterday was "odd". Anyway, been advised to visit the dealer again and revert if MMI firmware is not up to date - can anyone advise on below (pre face lift) please? I've tried googling all morning and it's a minefield and simply don't have the time to book in at the dealer moment.

Nav .DB vers. 8R0060884BT ECE 6.19.3 (expecting maps to be old as car - 2014)

Only two variables since it stopped working have been a rear brake change at the dealer (can't see them flashing anything then) and a renewal of the online traffic licence. Oddly on an MMI restart it flashes a current google earth map and then goes into pending download screen.....very weird, like it's got nowhere to write down the data.

Ask a different person get a different answer..... google earth overlay confirmed as down by US Audi Connect help line. Appears it's impacting older vehicles. I rang the Audi help line and got the automated message so acknowledge issue and they are working to resolve.
