Shocking customer service.

So an Audi master technician has decided that it's within tolerance for one side of the car to have brake pads on metal while the other side hadn't even tripped the brake pad warning sensor. That's from Audi uk. If I wish to take it further I have to go through the motor ombudsman service. I'm so disappointed with Audi. It's taken them 3 weeks to make this decision!
Am I alone?

Blade Audi in Cheltenham. Staff are wonderful and I have no issue but with scored discs front and rear which their master tech says is normal and the uneven pad wear, it's a bit silly.
I'll pop up and see the dealer principal but sadly, I am popping in to Mercedes tomorrow to look at the E63s. When you spend this much money and are treated so poorly, it's hard to justify staying.

Funnily enough my discs and pads are going the same way with the front offside wearing at a much quicker rate than the near side.

Brake caliper gets 10 deg. C hotter on the offside indicating some kind of increased friction. I've had Audi look at it and they aren't interested in entertaining any idea that the issue is a warranty item. I've even demonstrated that the offside is catching and that the disc squeaks as you turn by hand and they still won't acknowledge there is a problem.

What's the story on yours?

Unfortunately VAG is such a massive company they don’t give a flying <beep>. Dealers just fob honest paying customers with total bollocks

That’s a strange move :drink:

You said in your RS7 thread below that anyone ordering an E63s or F90 M5 must be gutted as you I assume you believe the new (although nobody has any idea what the new RS6 will be like) is going to be so unbeatable that anyone in one of the ‘other’ cars will be feeling inferior :bigblink:

I know, but what's the point of having a car like this when they treat you like this! I don't want to leave the brand but they are making it very hard to stay.

Pretty much the same. The O/S/F was described by the technician as "basically metal on metal" while the N/S/F
Hadn't set off the warning sensor. The worn pad was showing signs of high temperature according to them. They have spoken to the master technician who says there is no issue and it's within tolerance. Had I needed to stop very quickly at motorway speeds, there's a good chance it wouldn't have or would have veered to the right. They won't budge. It's appalling. How on earth can that be right and if it is, why have they spent money installing a redundant safety feature.
Add to that the badly scored front discs, the rears doing the same and a lip/scoring already starting on the fronts after 700 miles and it's a bit of an insult to be told everything is fine. It's very clearly not fine at all.
I'm averaging a long term 19 mpg and got 19.5k out of my last tyres. Hardly being hammered is it!!

I should also point out that this was in for a service. I had no reason to take it in or believe there was anything wrong with the brakes. Pure luck really.

I spoke to Audi UK on Monday and they were very dismissive of the brake issue and the gearbox issue to the point where the guy said, "I'm sorry why have you called Audi UK again?". Shocking customer service from Audi. I've dealt with AUK before and they were a lot better a couple of years ago. I was also told to go through the Motor Ombudsman if I wasn't happy!

Same response then. That's our decision, it's final and if you don't like it, go to the motor ombudsman. They work on the fact that 99% of customers won't bother. Not me though, going for data access with full transcripts which I'll publish along with a review of my RS6 and the 5 weeks it has spent in the dealership.
I'm really very, very angry with them. Still waiting for them to put in writing that such un even pad wear and scored discs are normal. Funnily enough nothing yet after 2 weeks and 2 reminders.

Going to the Motor Ombudsman is a complete waste of time and they know it.
