Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
Been looking at RS4's but a couple of 2013 RS6's caught my eye on the Audi approved site which are both sub £50k.
Unfortunately, they both don't have the dynamic pack nor the panoramic roof. How essential are these items and can the dynamic pack be offset with any aftermarket parts as a RS6 from Audi with the above items is north of £54k?

Dynamic pack is really more for the person the likes to have abbot of fun u get different suspension and derestricted to 170 but pan roof i would say is essentially if you like to have the roof open if you look 50k for pre face save abit more for a facelift

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
I have driven a non dynamic car and it was fine, if you intend to tow at any point then don't buy a dynamic car in any event. My car has DRC only, I don't like the dynamic steering and top end is academic. The pan roof is a funny one, it does lighten the interior but I rarely have it fully open and they are prone to creaking. When I specced my car the salesman thought it was a waste of money, but I like the look and it does probably helps resale, but as I trade every couple of years that doesn't bother me too much. If I was selling privately I might take a different view.
Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
I think the steering on the dynamic pack is a backward step so went DRC only.
The roof is great although I don't open it much. It lightens the interior and passengers love it. They do creak after a year or so, but it's only the seals and a quick rub with very thin layer of silicone grease every 12 months keeps them silent.

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
For me both are very much individual choice. I have had 2 RS6's, changing a facelift to a performance, neither with pan roof or dynamic pack.
I had no problems selling my facelift to a specialist dealer for a good price, and it sold on within a week of them having it.
The standard car is more than quick and dynamic enough for me on the road and I have no intention of putting it on a track so saw no need for the dynamic pack.
I find the interior fine and light enough without the pan roof, and would very rarely open it as just use the aircon.
So personal choice and neither essential, and doesn't effect resale, you may get slightly less than a pan roof or dynamic equipped car, but then you haven't paid for those options in the first place...
Good luck with your search....

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
Ive had a few cars with the pan roof and found them to be a pain (never used and constant noise from the seals). But have seen many threads stating that this is a must have item. The car will be used to tow at some point in its life so that may rule out the DRC.
The car will never see the track as i have a r35 gtr for that or be taken out for sunday morning blasts as i have something else for that. What im after is a damn fine family & dog express which has a nice turn of speed when i want.

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
Decided to bite the bullet and buy a car with pan roof and the dynamic plus kit fitted.
One thing of note though, there is an mtm Sticker on the inside of the filler cap. Has anyone come across this before?

Looks like it has previously been fettled by MTM. Probably one of their Cantronic tuning boxes, and as they are not cheap it was probably removed and sold.

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
Is there an easy way to check to see if its still with the car?
Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
I know someone with one so I'll ask him and get back to you.
Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
My mate doesn't have a Sticker on his. He said the box is normally fitted under the ECU so you'd have to take the ECU out to see it but there are extra wires hidden around the engine bay but I couldn't tell you what they look like or where they are.
I think most (if not all) UK cars have had their insured all done at qst so might be worth giving them a call with your registration number as they might know it's history.
my mate had also just text qst to see if they install thise Stickers in any cars.

Apparently, the car was owned by german premiership footballer, so may have been back to germany.
Let me know what your mate gets back from qst. Thanks for your help so far.

Oh that makes sense, he said for the MTM it would have been to qst or went back to Germany for fitting.

Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
I'll have a look around the car near the ecu in the morning to see if there are any additonal wires, etc.
Re: Buying an RS6 without Dynamic package or Pan roof
Qst said they used to fit those Stickers but don't any more.
