Gearbox remap?

Post by Rs63855 » Wed Jul 26, 2017 9:22 am

Guys my engine was remapped last year. The gearbox wasn't. I didn't think I needed the box mapped?

A friend had a drive of mine and told me the box needs mapping because of the lag in between gears. He has an rs4 re mapped and box mapped and it just constantly pulls no lag at all.

He mentioned a place in nelson called unit20 ?

Unicorn did my remap, I have asked him if he can map the box for me but just waiting for reply.

Has anyone else had there boxes mapped?

Thanks

I thought MRC had a go at remapping the C7 gearbox and found there was nothing to gain.
Remember the RS4 has a completely different type of gearbox anyway.

Not sure what you're going to be able to do with a slushomatic. RS4 is a different kettle of fish being a double clutch unit.

With the older ZF6 boxes in the C6 there was enough "play" in the system that you could adjust a few software settings to "tighten" it back up and make a noticeable difference but the ZF8 boxes already seem very well sorted from the factory, hence MRC finding such a small "tweaking" range that it's just not worth it.
