Found a damp spot!... [emoji848]

Like most of us yesterday, there was a lot of rain. Anyway, opened up the car door this morning and noticed a pool of water in the drivers footwell.

After a quick check on the dash and under steering column for any damp patches, I didn't find any.

I'm aware of a previous car (forget which one) if a drain hose became blocked, it could cause water to enter the car. Before I start looking, thought I'd ask for advice/help on here.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't this something to do with the pollen/cabin filter at the base of the windscreen? I remember this happening to my old VW about 10 years ago, I changed the filter and cleaned out old leaves and stuff from the area and it didn't happen again.

I may well be completely wrong on that though, I am probably the least mechanically minded person on this forum! :biggrin2:

I did have something similar to this issue on an old S3 - the trim on the glass wasn't 100% glued down at the base of the front screen so water would seep down to the air filters. It then meant the car would mist up even more in the rain when using the de-mister... never had a puddle in the foot well tho.

bit worrying as it must be dripping through some of the dash electrics to get there.
