Well getting close to finalising a deal on a car, I suppose I better sort out insurance. I was with LV on the discovery I sold a few months back, who is RS friendly at the moment, Car will be garaged so hope not to have to have a tracker on it.

Being garaged doesn't influence the need for a tracker.

I'm guessing the car will go out the garage, drive round a little and then straight back in without being parked up anywhere?

Sorry gents , this may have sounded a bit odd to some of you and may times have changed a little since i owned a decent car last but previous experiance with insurance companies on a few performance cars was that if they were on the drive tracker needed in garage not.
so anyone with any pointers who to go to first ?

As far as I'm aware you won't need to get a tracker on the C7. I was never asked to fit one. It's not a requirement for whatever reason. Nothing stopping you fitting one yourself though?

I'd try NFU for the quality of their policy. Whether they require a tracker will depend on a number of factors including usage.
Aviva worth a look though I'd expect them to require a tracker regardless.

I intended on modifying mine so did all my quotes for a modified car rather than go for a cheap quote fora standard car then get stung for adding spacers etc.

Another plug for NFU - no tracker required.

I had to fit a tracker although I think that may have been due to where I was living at the time.

I had to fit one. With a brand new car with a value over 75k insurers are more cautious.

That's not always the case, though.

LV=Tracker in my case. I think it is a standard requirement for them on this car. Very affordable premiums, though (about £400) and excellent when it comes to a claim (smacked in the bottom by a double decker). I think a tracker is a good thing, anyway, so it didn't bother me that I had to have one.

Another +1 for NFU... shaved £600 off previous insurers renewal quote. Tracker was not a requirement and parked on driveway, although another £100 off if I fitted one.
