Thing with the Teslas is that their party trick is the 'insanity/ludicrous mode' which beats everything off the line but only for the first few hundred yards or so. Plus I read that it degrades your battery life a lot.
I had a similar tussle with a GTR a while back and thought that it may be a close match. It wasn't and he got out of the way

He got out of the way...? really? Are you mapped?

My C6 Stage2 destroyed a GTR but I would have thought the C7 would strugle in std form...

09 plate GTR. Saw me coming so he floored it as did I and couldn't shake me off...after maybe 3/4 mile he just pulled over and let me pass. I was pretty surprised to be honest! He couldn't pull away at all. Mine is stock 16 plate FL.
And for the benefit of the tape the above occurred on a private road!

Will have been std or upto stg 2GTR I guess 480 or upto 600ish
Tbh I think a lot of cars will think they beat an RS6 as I often pull over when it gets "silly"

Obviously I don't know what he had under his bonnet but the GTR has a reputation that's for sure (whether a lot of it is just hyperbole I don't know) and I was surprised he couldn't pull away with ease (it sounded good under heavy revs for sure). I was surprised (in a good way of course) as were many others no doubt at the PH MY17 GTR vs RS6 PE track battle vid that came out. I could sense a sea of butt -hurt from GTR fanboys

In my experience It takes a lot of power to make a good getaway on a dig even more so when your at 70-80.

All good fun. :-)

:| The Tesla takes a while to get into ludicrous mode, need to warm battery pack up etc so it's great at the drag strip or a when you.have time to set it up to show off to your mates but in the real world at a set of lights or just generally driving along it is a 4.5s to 60mph car.
This was from a mate who owns the P100D. Not sure if the older /slower models have the same issue.

I seriously considered the Tesla when looking for the C6 replacement. A big win would have been driving it for free-drive to work then stuck it on charge there. I'm just not 'there' yet and needed forced induction in my life still. Also looked at an i8....beautiful car and ticked many boxes but the wheels look too small and as for getting in and out (plus the scissor doors mean you have to park carefully or get trapped) let's just say it's not 'papperazi friendly'! Am
Sure there's an art but I couldn't find it

After having my c7 snatched last month this was the question I asked myself too.
I decided it had to be something that wasn't going to be tempting for birminghams ( and surrounds) finest so I've ordered the p100d due for delivery in July/august.

Not sure how it will compare but I really enjoyed the test drive and I really wanted the performance with some relative security . Apparently it can be disabled like an iPhone if stolen and isn't very wanted by the criminal fraternity.

Ps; thumbs up to privilege insurance. Paid out with little fuss.
Thumbs down the West Midlands police. Haven't even shared good quality cctv as yet .

tartan_rob how do you think your C6 would have faired against the C7 if they were both rolling from around 60/80mph? I know from launch the C7 will have the edge because of the GB but interested to know what would happen when the C6 is up and running.

I was surprised (in a good way of course) as were many others no doubt at the PH MY17 GTR vs RS6 PE track battle vid that came out.
Honestly, that test was really out of whack... I don't doubt the RS6 performance in that test, but there was most definitely something fishy going on with the GTR, be it syrup in the tank, a novice driver who was in a serious crash the day before, or the car's setup. I have never seen such a slow-accelerating GTR -- under normal circumstances this would be an even race, at best. Now, I'd love to think I'd be as quick in my RS6 as any guy in a GTR, but I know I would have to be really focused and manage a perfect start in order to run even. On the other hand, with an APR Stage 1 tuned RS6, the GTR (un-tuned) might be in for a surprise... :-)

Once rolling the differences would be negligible, so not difficult to catch one napping in a straight line. Same would apply to the Tesla, if not in Ludicrous, or one of the earlier models, an RS6 would give it a good run for its money above say 60/80mph, but from the line the 90/100 as is now the favour of YouTube batters virtually anything.

Had a few close looks at the P90D last year & kind of get it, however I'm just not quite bought into the whole ecosystem just yet, but fabulous machines. That said, the P100D was launched soon after & for a decent spec you're knocking on the door of £140k & for that money your're in Turbo S/V10+ territory.

The C6 in stage2 guise was insane. 30-140mph takes 8 seconds (as shown on the YouTube video I posted). It was honestly hideous. I have yet to map the C7 but stg2 C6 vs std C7 is not a fair test.

To put it another way, driving the C7 in std form, I give all C6's a wide berth - in case they have been fettled with.
