What a ride!

So, picked up the Panther Black (Crystal) beast today, already named "Darth Vadar" by the Wife.

Whilst waiting for pick up I have been trawling the forums for ideas and possible mods. Having got the car and seeing it in the flesh I have come to several conclusions.....

- 560 ps is ample for me..... Stage 1 can wait!
- Wrapping it in something similar to the Daytona Grey Matt is not necessary as it looks stunning as is. Does wrapping actually affect insurance and warranty??
- Chrome actually looks alright but still looking to get it changed to black I think.
- Spacers will definitely finish off the look for me.
- Replacing the grille with one that has the "quattro" written on it will also finish it off well.
- it sounds more than awesome and love the snap crackle and pop!

The car is a fantastic drive and a wonderful place to be. So glad I upgraded from the RS4. Feels completely different and still getting used to the different handling.

Managed to eventually upload speed camera POI's. Wish I had MMI Connect but not really a deal breaker given how I use the car.

More pictures to follow. Image

Congrats, great car and great colour.

I agree with spacers and black optics.
However, don't rush into the Quattro grille. I've seen a couple lately that look really good without. Miggt have been number plate free too.

Glad you have seen the light, Mike. That "qrattro" grille is just too fussy. Plain grille looks great, like an enormous cheese grater on the front.

Steady, I've not completely swapped sides, but can see that the non Quattro one does have it's merits.

Thanks all for your comments. It's some beauty.

I know what you mean and see where you're coming from but I do like the grille after having seen it. I'm not one for extroverted mods but a little tweak here and there'll suit my modest tastes.........he says cutting around in an RS6!!

Figure out how to do the optics now. A guy with the tag, RAF###, did some very nice work on his A7 in another forum, turning chrome to black with 3M wrap tape I think.

Similarly I don't like the lowered look at all but can appreciate the desire for it.

Congratulations on your new addition

SO, got the spacers and my, dare I say it out loud......"quattro" grille ;-) and after some dings and scratches on the RS4, a dashcam. That grille will be a tricky one (for me) to fit, but there's an excellent write up how to that I've seen.

I also remembered when in the RS4 forums that the exhaust tips paint gets chipped away and low and behold mine have suffered. Given they're tips and won't get too hot (?) I guess I could plastidip them. I hope that's not blasphemy here! I also thought I might do the same with the chrome. Thoughts?

Are trims really riveted from the inside????

I would at some point also like to get/paint the brake calipers red just to add a tiny bit of contrast colour. My wife would be so proud of me...... Accessorising!!
Any good recommendations for paint or folks that could do it? I've browsed some how to forums etc but anyone here with first hand experience?

Cheers, and thanks for taking time to reply for those that do, appreciated. Image
