Guys
As always I spend thousands on cars, modding, getting how I like them...however fancy a newer 6.
Anyone gone from standard car to a performance?
Pros and cons please?
(My car is mapped of course)...will I feel "much" of. A difference in a PE model?
Thanks
Chris

Hello 'sir' chris! I have gone from a standard car to a PE and there are subtle differences with the main noticeable one being better in gear acceleration probably due to the extra ponies and the overboost function or whatever Audi call it. I also had Contis on the old car and now have Dunlops and seem to have lost the tramlining under hard acceleration which is good. My old car was also DRC and the new one on air. This is because of needing a tow bar, and although there is a difference you have to be pressing down on the shouty pedal to notice the difference but I did prefer the ride and handling on DRC. I appreciate you may not find a lot of this that useful if you are looking modding anyway. Overall I would say for the amount of money you are likely to sink in to a new car, stick with your existing one as IMHO the differences are just not that vast. Unless you really wanna make a change then do it.

Surely the PE model will be slower, hence you will feel a difference ....and end up modding it as you have done with your current car.
As I think it's just a map/ ecu tweak on the PE edition I think overall tuning potential is the same.

Love the ummph of mine BUT it's dare I say it....too much sometimes, until your past licence loosing numbers I think a PE model will be fine for me.
Does anyone really need more than 600bhp in a car?....
I'm starting to worry about the age of mine now and what strains map has put on gearbox and drivetrain etc?
I drive it sometimes like I stole it but I find I'm doing stupid speeds and have to give my head a shake sometimes!
I need an Avant for my lifestyle...just fancy three years of Audi warranty etc etc?

Looks good on those rims and spacers.
I'm having adjustable fitted in a few weeks and think I'm going in at 30mm which seems sensible to me as I couldn't decide between the 20mm or 40mm H&R's
Agree - no one needs 600+ HP really... but I want it.
I can't help but have a little play with anything I've had / got, cosmetics aren't always top of the list but I like to make things a bit sharper.

Sir Chris, you will notice the difference with headlights too. Matrix LED are excellent on unlit roads / motorways.
I'd expect the PE to feel a bit slower than your current 6 however, mine dyno'd at MRC with 888NM on overboost so should be enough to keep you happy.

I went from a FL to a PE - same spec other than dropped night vision which I didn't use and Daytona to Nardo. Both DRC
In all honesty I cant say I notice any power difference at all. I am sure there is a bit if you get a stopwatch out, but in reality it's meaningless on the road.
The only difference I notice is that the new Pirelli's are much (even much much) better than the conti's imo and I have never really bin a fan of pirellis at all. Would even consider them again if Michelin don't get there act together and produce PS4S's in a sensible size in about 3000 miles time. The Pirelli's aren't quite as good now as they were when new (down to about 4mm) but they are still much better than the Conti's were at the same age.
Actually the biggest difference in the 2 cars - Chris at Centre Gravity set the new one up at 5000miles in. Genius - what a difference and what a great man and organisation. Can't recommend him enough.
