Sports/standard exhaust
Sports/standard exhaust
Side by side what is the visual difference between the two. Anyone have any pics ?? Or is it what's inside the boxes?
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
I believe the back boxes and pipes on sports exhaust are painted Matt black?!

Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Chrome ovals in bumper usually means sorts exhaust wasn't fitted.
Sports exhaust had black ovals in bumper also.

Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Just checked black back boxes chrome ovals in bumper. Is that the only visual difference ???
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Yes, only visual difference between the standard and sports exhaust is the oval bumper tips.skirs6 wrote:Just checked black back boxes chrome ovals in bumper. Is that the only visual difference ???
Standard = Chrome
Sports = Black
The main difference is the exhaust internals and the sound!!
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Ovals in black can be ordered as extra accessories, when buying car important to check if car is fitted with 0P6 (Audi sport exhaust as optional) but in my opinion Audi sport exhaust is weak, best to buy car with standard exhaust and then look for aftermarketshanek wrote:Yes, only visual difference between the standard and sports exhaust is the oval bumper tips.skirs6 wrote:Just checked black back boxes chrome ovals in bumper. Re: Sports/standard exhaust
If you put them side by side there appears to be no visual difference. You need to check the individual part numbers to determine the sports one
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
You can try to listen to it too
. Black tips is what to look for

Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Very good !!! Difficult when it's sat on the floor not connected to an engine.relax max wrote:You can try to listen to it too. Black tips is what to look for

Part numbers then? Should give a definative answer surely?skirs6 wrote:Very good !!! Difficult when it's sat on the floor not connected to an engine.relax max wrote:You can try to listen to it too. Black tips is what to look for
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Looking at the part numbers it looks like it splits the exhuast up into sepearate parts (I thought you could only buy the cat back part as a single item).
Interestingly, it only lists one part number for each of the rear boxes but 2 prt numbers for the centre silencer which implies the rear boxes are the same for Sport and non sport versions and only the centre silencer differs. The 2 different centre silencers are only differentiated buy the last digit; R & S (regular and sport perhaps?).

The other bit of exhaust which has the front silencer in has just one part number per bank so looks like it's the same for sport and non sport too.

Re: Sports/standard exhaust
Cheers Mike I have to say removing centre box and front baffles just brings the car to life. It's crazy in sport
Re: Sports/standard exhaust
For me it makes the car sound like it should have when it left the factory. So much more enjoyable to drive now.skirs6 wrote:Cheers Mike I have to say removing centre box and front baffles just brings the car to life. It's crazy in sport
