Did any of you have had the following problem. Jus did an oil service about 2 k miles and for the second time tonight I got the "too much oil" warning come up? It came a few weeks but then disappeared by the end of my journey. Am now 400 miles from home on a Saturday which isn't ideal... Any thought/experience with this?

I remember reading about this on here as a common problem ages ago. Can't remember what they did about it (maybe remove and replace cap?). Do a search, it should come up.

For me it was when the car was only being used for short runs in cold weather leading to an accumulation of moisture on the inside of the oil filler cap. I took it off and dried it out and it seemed to sort it.

Had my two year (oil) service carried out by Southend Audi three weeks ago and 1500 miles later, on a dark and very lonely road somewhere in the middle of Sweden, the 'Reduce Oil' warning light appears... guessed it was a faulty sensor. Called Audi and they confirmed it was probably just that and said to bring it in when I returned. They subsequently checked the levels and said that there was nothing wrong. The sensor has since behaved but they will carry out further checks when I have the wheel alignment carried out next week.

Light came on again. Luckily I was nearby a very nice dealer -for a change- who found out the stealer who did the service put too much oil. Was v surprised when he said much better for these cars not to have too much oil

That's not good... hardly a difficult job.
