Ascari Blue

Post by HDPete » Mon Mar 21, 2016 6:01 pm

Has anyone seen an Ascari Blue car, or have any pics? I can opt for it on the PE, but the dealer doesn't have a sample.

I am also looking at this colour. The configurator implies its quite dark, but the launch cars on various show blogs look a lot lighter than I would have imagined. Confused !

Don't use the configurator as a guide. My car looks nothing like the configurator image colourwise (more the trim rather than paint but still not an accurate representation).

Hmmm - I can't make sense of it, it looks like a light Nogaro - and metallic. Like Sky Blue ish?

I dunno - I'd have had if I didn't just WANT noggy.

Hmmmm.... not sure about that colour if it's Ascari.

There's one at High Wycombe Audi in Mystic Blue which is a custom paint and it looks amazing.

Stunning colour - although not quite sure why they'd spec matt aluminium mirrors with carbon bits on the car... strange!

Probably because the mirrors are another £1.5k.
Some people get the alu ones then change them for aftermarket carbon ones later

Yep, exactly what i have done! Not paying £1.5k for sodding mirror covers.

Ascari is nice. I saw it in the flesh and was tempted to change for it, given it is an exclusive colour for the PE. I felt it was quite similar to Sepang; another great colour when the light hits it.

DrGav, I decided to keep my aluminium wing mirrors as a homage to RS cars of old... ;)

Looks stunning. Already thinking I'll go with Sepang blue for the C8, and my Daytona grey C7 has yet to arrive - comes on Friday!

So just looked at this - on the configurator the blue looks darker than sepang, which could make a decent reference point - makes it a very dark colour?

I'd not order that unless I'd seen the metal swatches.

You had a look on Audi Germany? They normally have photos of early cars for sale.

I haven't, but will do.
