Exhaust on start up

Post by Markp » Tue Feb 02, 2016 10:36 pm

Is there a more subtle setting for a quieter start up when warm? My car does a good Aston Martin noise type blare whatever I seem to have the exhaust set to - great most of the time but a bit embarrassing outside the Shop in my local (sleepy) village. Am I missing something - or should I grow a tbicker skin?

The AMG63 was the same. Big roar/rumble for 20 secs shouting look at me. Best approach is to adopt a "don't screw with me I am a drug dealer/bank robber" etc attitude and just assume you won't have to send so many christmas cards next year. Save on the stamp licking duties.

The best moment so far with the Akrapovic is when the young chap jumped out of his skin when the 6 was started unless he was miles away in thought and then came crashing back to earth.
Don't be embarised just embrace the roar .... you should hear the two Cobras which are near me at the weekends ..... just fantastic and beats the drone of lawn mowers.

Try sticking into drive or reverse and back into park, worked with my C6 RS6

Exhaust flaps are open on start up. I guess you could code the car so they close when the ignition is turned on?

RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke
RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though

F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip
RS6 V10 700BHP crazy

Currently running a Morgan Aero Coupe with dual side exhausts on each side. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR6lwpfte9Q

I do not jest when I say that my favourite game is car park drive-bys. The system is so open that I can drive down a row of cars in an enclosed car park (underground etc) and set 50%+ off at low revs and wide throttle angle. Both the AMG E63 and the RS6 with sports exhaust don't stand a chance against this thing !
