I paid a little under 79k for a 93k car.

On a base car the target is £12.5k. So with a list of £94k you will be wanting a £14k minimum total discount. Bear in mind discount will come in 3 parts:
1. Audi financial services deposit contribution (currently set to £4k for this financial qtr)
2. Dealer deposit contribution (currently set to £3k for this financial qtr)
3. Dealer extra discount, which is the variable part
How a dealer hides the extra discount will vary. They might reduce the "invoice price", add it into your "cash deposit" and/or into deposit contribution, or even in your p/x price.

I believe they have 15% margin on the basic chassis so generally they'll offer 8-9% at a drop of a hat.

You can get £12.5k off a basic car so they can't only have 15% margin. 15% off £77,760 (don't forget you can't discount the £1325 OTR costs) is £11,664, so £12,500 is circa 16.5%.

The dealer's margin isn't the same as the overall discount....

Sorry I worded it a bit wrong. What I meant was they'll offer 8-9% after the £7000 contribution. I've got baby brain ( we've just had a baby) at the mo and can't write things out properly or sit with a calculator as you have Km. lol

At midlifes price bracket the best I could find was about 14k, maybe just a bit higher. The percentage works out higher if you are basing it on a basic car because the fix4f finance and dealer discount (7k) is a higher percentage of a cheaper car, so at 92k 15% was about the best I could find.

Mate she's moaning like her mum as I'm typing. I'm hiding in my office while the missus is dealing with little miss. But yea thanks buddy. She's actually quite good through the night considering she's only 7 days old. And I'll feel even better when I pick up my new Car tomoz. Sorry guys I'm keeping it a secret what it is for a while. Its an Audi though.
