Another new RS6 owner :-)

Post by drgav2005 » Mon Jan 11, 2016 7:21 pm

Hello all!

Looking forward to getting my hands on my new RS6. Ordered via orange wheels.co.uk and got a car through Crawley Audi... It will be a long drive home to Scotland but I'm looking forward to it! Had thought I'd take delivery in March but looking on the 'yourAudi' site it appears the car is now built and in quality control... just as well I didn't bother to ask to change the spec when I was wavering this weekend :) If the car comes in the next 3 weeks or so I doubt I'll be able to hang on until the new 16 reg (and I'm sticking a personal plate on anyway).

Sepang blue, black 21" wheels, panoramic roof, heated steering wheel, advanced key + hands free boot, assistance pack, audi connect + phone box, front and rear heated seats, gloss black styling pack, HUD, parking pack advanced, privacy glass, rear side airbags, speed limit display and towing equip. Was toying with performance exhaust but dropped it from original spec - almost added it this weekend and found out today the car was built - I'm guessing work week 1 started Friday 1st Jan

The next few weeks will no doubt be very slow :beerchug:

Congrats, sounds like a great spec… apart from the missing sports exhaust (its not a performance exhaust just sounds better).
If it has just gone into quality control then it is a build week 2 car. Build week 1 cars are at the port or on boats now. Build week 3 cars go onto the panel Shop on Thursday.

We will need some photos when it arrives!

When did you order it?

Thanks Mike,

I ordered it on 16th November, although it looks like the order went through on 22nd October to Audi. I was originally told I had a week 1 build slot and the car was scheduled for a March delivery so it's still faster than I'd expected.

Yep, I swithered a bit over the Sports exhaust. My wife has the sports exhaust on her A45 AMG Merc and it's bloody ridiculous to be fair - just drones on in the background when you're sitting at motorway speeds and I had similar issues with a Peugeot 205GTi and a Golf Mark 5 R32 many moons ago. I half expected the RS6 to be like that, rather than the PSE that I had on my 997 C4S. I'd gone a bit mad on the spec, so another £850-1000 on the exhaust seemed a bit overkill. I'm now (slightly!) kicking myself but after reading the posts on here about the quality of the black tips I'm not overly worried. I can always change the exhaust later on if it's too quiet...

I'll definitely be getting the camera out when the car arrives :biggrin3:

Nice to find this forum - the Audi forum on PH was too quiet for my liking - I think I've read every road test on the RS6 I could find so it's great hearing what real owners think of their cars. :beerchug:

You are in the right place for RS6 info of all generations and the latter 2 gens of RS4 and S4. A fair few R8 owners too. The others S & RSs have their own forums elsewhere.

Nothing worse than the waiting game. If my car lands in the next week or so I'm taking delivery, it it takes till February I'm waiting for the new plate.

My new car made it back to Scotland on Friday night after drive back from Knaresborough...
Nardo, black optics, air, sports exhaust, 21" wheels etc.
very happy with it, iPhone pics don't really show the colour but it looks very menacing in the flesh, and drives as well as I'd hoped.
Happy with air suspension for the uses I bought it for, and added bonus is that it seems to sit a little lower.

Thoughts are inevitably turning towards remaps and 700hp+ although it clearly doesn't need it!

Hoi! Start your own thread!!! Hahahah :jump:

Lovely looking car - I was tempted by Nardo but thought I'd get Sepang to remind me what colour the sky is supposed to look like up here! Enjoy the car :thumb:

I love car collection day, especially when it is something as cool as an RS6. Quite a few Scottish C7 RS6 owners on here now, we should arrange a meet if only this rain would stop!!! Congrats on the purchase :beerchug:
