Finally the RS6 Performance Edition is ordered!

Post by boff » Sun Dec 13, 2015 6:42 pm

So I stuck a deposit on a PE about erm, 6 weeks ago? actually turns out that was a pointless exercise as the car actually got properly ordered today, although meant that the depo cash had already left the bank (easier on the Mrs!)

I have ordered an RS6 PE from Audi City (Martin Roberts) They have done a deal very much inline with what's available, and are decent to deal with. I'm very happy.

Oh on that note, I nearly bought one to take home today!! They have a LOVELY Missano Red STD car with Black pack on it - just looks the absolute nuts.

But here is my Crazy Spec....:

AF2S3TK1

Nogaro Blue Excl - always wanted a noggy car
Dynamic Pack - Ceramics not needed
Gloss Black Styling including mirrors - looks awesome
Assistance Pack - I must have adaptive cruise.
Parking Pack Advanced - Basically because it is funny, but top view camera is useful, this thing is huge.
Convenience Pack - for securing those loads during sporting driving
Pano Roof - Just because I love them
Heated F&R seats - otherwise my wife would never get in
B&O Sound system - Yeah, yeah I know - but I did, I just did.
Audi Connect and Phone Box - another must have
Head-Up Display - Clocks are too far down when you are headed for the atmosphere (I like planes!!!.....)
PE Wheels in Gloss Black - fits with the Gloss Black pack
Red Brake Calipers - Just because it looks cool
Adv Key - Again can't be without it now
Speed Limit Display - It just does need that.

Basically I've gone a bit nuts, but not too nuts. It's gonna be lovely, I like tech and toys, and it'll be my exact car. I got a great deal on it - so it's ok.

I'll shut up about it now!!

Blimey Boff, you're worse than me! I normally order a new car after having one 6 months or so! You only got your B8 a few weeks before I got mine!
I actually still love mine and there's nothing I want to change to at the moment.
RS6 unfortunately is not for me (SVR for me if I had to choose) but really hope you you love it! Is it going to be a long wait?
(Nice spec, and if I wanted one, would be practically the same)

Surely your looking at the best part of 100k for the performance edition?

Well done Boff on closing the deal. Great (and bloody expensive) spec!!
I love the Noggy with blakc optics. I hope they don't make you wait too long for the exclusive colour.

I orignally specced the heated front and rear seats until I realised you get heated front seats as standard so the option only adds heated rear seats. Pointless for one kid in a child seat and the other one is big enough and ugly enough to put up with cold seats.

Riv I think that spec is closer to £105k

Nice! Take it Dragons Den went ok then!

That's going to be a beast of a car. Can't wait to see pictures when it lands. Any chance you could PM me details of the deal you got (understand if you don't want to share it). I work up 'in town' and might try to go into Audi City.

You've definitely followed the 'spec the car you want' mantra. Takes balls to go that deep into a deal.
Current 2017 991.2 GT3 - Manual, 918 Buckets / CS pack, Guards, the dog's.
Gone 2016 991.1 GTS PTS Voodoo Blue - best car to date, 2015 911.1 GTS, Carmine, PDK, interior pack, stunning, 2016 Carmine Cayman GTS, PDK + toys, 2015 RS5 Cab, 2012 Discovery 4 family wagon, 2014 Golf R, 2015 Cayman GTS, 2014 RS4, Sepang with most of the toys, SQ5, S4, S5, A5, A6.

I'm not in a major rush for the car, as long as it's on the drive before June - we're cool. The SVR - yeah I forgot about that; but I'll be getting to 60 in 3.7 seconds, they are lovely tho eh? sat in one the other day, spec'd up they hit £110k and no discounts or 7 seats.

Problem on the spec is I have been spoiled in the b8 ltd, I've basically built the same car in 6PE guise.

I'm a real sucker for gadgets!! but did hold of the completely mad ones, and the ceramics. The B&O tho, sharmone at £6k; that's the really cheeky option. I love music tho.

It's actually not too bad, until you go nuts with the options.

I'm gonna delete the seats - hot tip...! OH btw, something I really don't need is the 4 zone climate, infact it;s a royal pain in the neck with a 5 and 7 year old in the back. Can you turn those controls off? Lock them?

B&O is an interesting one. 6k for some updated kit in an object with the acoustics of a bean can is a tough one. I love music, but I'd sooner add another black box to the pile of Naim kit in a room with decent acoustics. It's also a load of extra things to rattle and go wrong.....which will require dismantling of the dash.

You've missed off the Alcantara headlining.....shame there's no extended leather options, dropped on facelift.

LOL, the 4 zone climate could turn out to be a pain for me too. I had both kids in the back on the test drive and they both thought it was really cool... followed by dad I'm hot, dad I'm cold, dad I'm hot. Not sure if you can disable it but I feel like this is going to be the source of a few arguements soon.

I love music too, but what I heard of the B&O wasn't 6.3k worth of good sounds. I could put together a better sound for a fraction of that. I have a set of 3 way Focal Utopias with matching Crossblock (excellent 3-way (semi) passive crossover) that I'm dying to give a good run. Only managed to run it as 2-way in the RS4 wand that was with a cheap crossover so really excited if I can fit these into the 6. Either way, I could walk into a decent car stereo Shop and throw a few grand at them and probably get a beter sound but I guess the B&O is convenient and 'invisible'. Like I said before I might give the B&O a good work out and if I'm half impressed pick up one of the complete B&O kits on ebay for £2.5k.
I'm not impressed by the B&O in the RS3. Don't get me wrong, it's OK for what it costs but if the RS6 sounded the same I'd be annoyed.

If this post is for real, we are all enjoying 60 in 3.27 sec, so you should be ahead of that surely?

Also, with the rear AC, you can control it from the MMI. NOt sure if you can lock it out though.

Those figures would make sense. The RS3 has been recored at hitting 60 (or was it 62?) in 3.92s when stock and the RS6 feels noticably faster.
