Winter car!!

So who out there hibernates the C7 and opts for a winter car! Not me as don't see the point but on a few other forums talk is rife and I can't understand why you would pay so much for a car and only use in good weather.

This as has been mentioned in many a motoring magazine, must be close to the ultimate winter car.
Give it a good wax and the bodywork will be fine.

Yes and sod the winter tyres aswell..its not a quattro for nowt!!

Using a 205 in the road salt is just criminal! Especially one that nice! Mine is tucked in the garage with a brimmed tank to stop condensation (rust) on the fuel filler pipe / tank

Geordie, winter tyres make a huge difference, agree mechanical grip is good, but two tonnes of German technology still relies on that contact. Quattro plus winter rubber is simply amazing.

I for one will of course drive the RS6 in the winter time as well (I have 20" winter tires on; summer tires run on 21"), but for really poor road conditions (i.e. huge amounts of snow or black ice) when the risk of damages by other drivers are extraordinary, I have just gotten a Golf R -- kind of the RS6's baby brother (half the engine, almost half the size and almost as much fun...
