MRC C7 Remap

Post by C7 Boss » Thu Nov 19, 2015 9:35 pm

Hi guys

Just wanted to say hello as I've picked up my 65 reg RS6 Avant in Sepang Blue. With my other car being a Nissan GTR with 900bhp I've been looking to give the RS6 a little tweak. A quick read through this forum it seems that MRC are quite reputable in the UK and I was wondering what sort of gains could be had with just a remap on a stock car with the factory optional sports exhaust. Also do they offer any features such as map switching on the fly and a factory mode for when it goes to the dealers?

Thanks in advance.
Akeel

I don't think they do on the fly map switching though.

Nope, back to have the map put back....and the debate over traceability has been had!

Those are great results with just a remap and filters! Had a look at APR's website and they do provide fly map switching but haven't heard of any UK guys using them?

At first I was considering a Milltek but have gone against it as I think the stock sports exhaust is just right, I've got the GTR for when I need to be an ASBO :biggrin3:

You need a custom map, not a black box with a switch. MRC ftw.

There's no point in switching maps, MRC's maps are lovely and it'll drive better than stock in the low end smoothness, and a hell of a lot faster on the top end!

And no matter what you do, it is traceable. If Audi plug it in they WILL be able to see it's been played with and they'll flag it so if anything drivetrain related fails it's on you. Which is how it should be to be honest.

Another option is DMS. They've been getting some amazing outputs from the C7 RS6 & have custom tuned several.

AFAIK they don't offer switchable maps though.

Have you looked at Litchfiled. They do a map for the RS at a great price (claim 750bhp and they usually are conservative when advertising). Not decided where I will go for my map. Coming from a 800bhp GTR the RS I test drove was a bit slow. When mine arrives I will start the hunt for more power.

MAP switching is a great feature, not sure that anyone has looked at it or capable of doing it with these latest ecus. The ECU in the gtr is old tech and easily manipulated.

RS7 FL best car I've owned. No faith in turbo oil screen (turbos failing) or sticking oil scraper ring causing missfires.
F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol

RS3 8P Rubbish
C7 RS6 Fantastic car but missed playing
GTR R35 800bhp, too extreme, crazy fast though

F10 M5, awesome but no rear grip

That's the one :bigwave: I'll give MRC a call and see what they can offer.

I was down there a few days ago and had a little peek at their RS6, impressive results considering they've only started to fettle with Audis recently. Just having a look around at the moment to see what everyone can offer, what sort of prices are the remaps from MRC?

Bit pricey considering Litchfield are charging £600 for a stage 1 remap.

Maybe, but look at MRC's history. Long standing, award winning, proven work with Audis.
