Newbie spacesaver question

First of many questions I suspect...
Tried searching on space saver spares and while some debate on here there seems to be no definitive answer, and dealer not much help.
I run 20 inch wheels on my car. Can I get a spacesaver to fit in the well of the boot that fit over the brakes and work rolling circumference wise?
Thanks

Have been meaning to write up properly but didn't get round to it. I ordered a 20 inch space saver for the RS6. It fit in the boot fine once the load liner over the battery is removed. I got a new tool kit from ebay which sits on top of the battery below the wheel. The compressor and gunk fit under the wheel also but this is because I have RS Sports suspension plus which removes the aluminium air accumulator the wheel well for the standard air suspension. I ordered the plastic tray from ebay to cover the wheel up as per the standard spec for cars with the spare wheel. I was also nervous that it wouldn't fit. On such a practical and already heavy car I think the spare is a must for long trips. If I ever use it in anger I'll be careful on the throttle as its nearly half the width of the standard wheel.

The wheel is a 145 60 R20. The toolkit that fits over the battery and under the wheels is part number 4G0 012 109. The new tray part number is 4G9 863 547

Oh rolling radius is 2.6 percent different according to willtheyfit.com so hopefully fine

Perfect. May I ask how much the whole set cost?
Thanks

All from eBay. Got wheel for 100ish delivered, toolkit from happyparts.de on eBay for £25 then tray cover for about £30

Any update on other alternatives? I'm not too happy with an 18mm difference in diameter despite speed and distance limit of the spacesaver. Still waiting for delivery in April but have specced with standard 20" and considering using a full size identical spare. Obviously that will have to live above the boot floor in a jacket which is a PITA but better then being stranded up continental S***'s Creek and having to wait for a new tyre.

I bought a full sized spare which I keep at home - just put it in the car for long trips.

The boot was so enormous, I used to carry a full size part-worn tyre. It paid dividends a couple of times on damaged side walls.

Thanks Guys. What's the best place to source OEM rims?

Can I just check, please: does the space saver use the same length wheel bolts as the alloy wheels?
Thanks

Good tip this one....what forums are all about
Not designed to do hundreds of miles but would get you home or somewhere safe whilst sorting a new tyre or repair.
Sooner go down this route than have to carry full sized wheel or tyre everywhere all the time.

Fair comment and each to their own but quite useless for my regular continental trips. I remain concerned about the 18mm difference in diameter which massively exceeds the max front to rear axle average tread depth difference Audi state as the limit presumably to protect the centre diff. Warranty issues could therefore arise
