RS6 Tyres

Hi guys
Picking up a used RS6, needs tyres soon, have negotiated with the dealer.
The OE are Pirelli NCS tyres, I always run Michelin SS on anything performance, got them on my R8 etc, what tyres recommendations can anybody make?
Dealer seems to be putting me off the SS on the basis they are not RO1 but that doesn't worry me, Iv had them on numerous cars and think they are brilliant.
Any advice welcomed
Thanks

Dealers dont know sh it. Any 4 tyres of the correct proportions/load rating will be fine.
Clearly for this car you should go higher end, if it was me id be more than happy with PSS.

I'm aware that the dealers aren't that well
Informed.
I also understand that they should advise that the best suited tyres are the ones that Audi have approved (RO1 A0) etc.
They will gladly fit the SS if I send them an email requesting which I'm
Happy to do, just wanted to see if any owners have used them on the c7 yet, it may be that the other tyres are better suited, I doubt that though.
Thanks again

Check the other threads on tyre issues and lack of supply of the R01s. I would fit the Michelin SS and will be doing soon as soon as these Dunlop R01s are scrubbed enough.

I'd go PSS, so much better than the Dunlops. Michelin confirmed the same that as long as size and rating is correct its a tyre that will fit. R01 is as much about compound as anything so I believe.

Found a set of Michelin PSS in 295/30ZR21, ie slightly wider than OEM. Would these fit within tolerance?

On a car of this performance I would fit the precise tyre specified to be honest.
I wouldn't want a tyre burp or issue on a UK motorway or the Bahn .
Many people stocking the Mitch ss for the 21" now.

AUDI uk website have been listing Michelin PSS for the RS6 for a while now- so this could be taken as a sort of endorsment of their suitability?
http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servi ... l#/landing
The Michelins don't have the "Audi Genuine Tyre" banner on the site though.

Not sure what service is behind that tyre listing, but for my S8 it lists ONLY 17" tyres!

It came with 18's and some have 20's (including mine now).
I entered my reg and it correctly identified the model, but given that 17" wheels don't even fit over the brakes someone's database isn't great.

I do find this strange as even on Michelins website they quote for the MPSS "tested & approved for BMW M, Porsche & Mercedes" & they have different markings for each marque. I think it's MO for Mercedes & * for BMW.
You'd have thought Audi would have somehow had involvement in making the MPSS an OEM tyre, as according to my research they're by far & away the best tyre for such vehicles. A huge chunk of the R35 GT-R owners are ditching the Dunlop RF's & fitting MPSS.
