Tyre experiences

Hi all,

About to replace my tyres again and wanted to find out people's experiences with tyre choices thus far. I've been running Pirellis but considering a change potentially to the dunlop or conti options to see how they compare (as I've not had great traction experiences from the Pirellis on occasion - and the wear rate is relatively fast although that might be my driving)

Would be interested to hear people's experiences in terms of dry/wet performance and tread wear with their tyres.

Won't help you at the moment but I will be putting on michelin pilot super sports had them on my B7 couldn't fault them fantastic grip on wet and dry and hard wearing

Yeah, I'm too late to stick winters on now really - definitely next winter though!

And the Michelins arent a valid option on the C7 RS6 unfortunately

i believe the pirellies have some sort of sound deading in them especially for the RS6

Yeah - both the dunlop (noise shield technology) and contis (contisilent) also have the same technology with the foam inside the tyre wall, so they should all offer similar reductions in cabin tyre noise.

have conti winter nd summer set. Havent properly tested the summer set yet but the winter set is perfect so far

I used to run Vred's (Ultrac Sessanta) on my old RS6. They were excellent in all weathers with good wear and sensibly priced from Pneus-online. I found the V10 chewed the Pirelli's and Michelin's for fun.

PS - they also make the best winter tyres....wintrac extreme

Agreed with the winters they were excellent on my B7 but couldn't get them to fit the 20" on the B8

Michelin All day long for me. £1197 for 4 fitted at Costco.

Contis were originally on it

Michelin is much quieter, feels more grippy in both wet and dry - wear rate is way better than Contis.

New tyres are always quieter thanks to block depth. My worry is the Michelibs will get very noisy as they wear- they have on my wife's 997 which runs 305s at the back. Great wear and performance otherwise though.

Lol I was about to say the same.

But while we are on the subject; the cheapest place I found for Michelins without fitting was tyreleader. For a little bit more thoygh black circles will get you the tyres with fitting so the cheapest overall at £288 each.
