Its good enough for my lugholes. I've never heard the B&O system which I'm sure it superb but not £6K more superb. Can't compare against a C6 but against the B&O system in the RS4 its on par. I'm no audio specialist though but like I said for me its good enough :beerchug:

I have Bose and it sounds excellent.

However I want B&O badly!

Spend 6k on hifi at home. Car has acoustics of bean can. There's no point.

The B&O option in HK is HKD140k after tax....that's why I opted for one without. I'd rather listen to the engine and the pops and crackles the sports exhaust make, those are true music to my ears. XD

I was undecided about speccing B&O in my RS6 C7 so my dealer arranged for a car with B&O fitted to be sent over from another branch in their dealership for me to listen to. Certainly had the wow factor when the speakers rose from the dashboard...but honestly?...I couldn't really tell the difference. I so wanted to justify the extra £6K but I'm so glad I heard it with my own ears and decided to stick with the Bose.

V8RS6 sweet cheers for that mate. Yeah one of the very first C7 RS6 i tested was a red demo with B&O and i was so excited about driving it kind of overseen it, but faintly remember trying it and it was great but then when i had another demo some time later with bose, Kind of remember it not being that much better or as far as i could remember so thats good im happy with the bose, yes B&O is probably better but with a bose for free id rather spend my 6k elsewhere. :beerchug:

I've not heard either but I imagine if you are listening to mp3s then you will struggle to hear much difference in detail or upper end and if there is any difference it will be in the bass /sub range or overall dynamics.

i've listened to the B&O in the S8 D3 and it really does sound great, i loved it, true that 6K is an expensive feature but i think is one of the best audio system in a car today, if not quite the best. It could be that the soundproofing for B&O is better than BOSE so could be one of the reasons it sounds better, apart form the system itself obviously, i remember watching a movie when they launched it on the D3 S8 regarding that...

You're right MikeFish. When my dealer gave me the B&O demo I first of all connected my iPod which was loaded with MP3's.....the MP3 compression dictated the quality of sound to a great extent and I honestly could only hear negligible difference from the B&O over the Bose.
When I played a CD the difference was more pronounced with the B&O.But the car was static on both occasions. Whilst listening to the B&O when the car was on the move, I had to turn up the volume to a very high level to appreciate the extra clarity. This had the effect of drowning out the glorious sports exhaust. B&O emphasise the surround sound on their system is incredible....but so is the Bose's.
So unless you spend most of your time listening to music in your car whilst stationary or whilst at uncomfortably high volume when driving then I really do think the Bose is the best option.....which IMO is a magnificent audio system in its own right.
To summarise, in my experience of hearing them both simultaneously, I would probably pay an extra £2k for the B&O, just to see the speakers rising...but not £6K....and i definitely wouldn't pay even the £2K for the extra 6-8 weeks I was told it would add to the delivery time.

I thought bose in the C6was rubbish. Couldn't get the base sounding right or the focus of the music right with any of the DSP settings apart from the setting the fader almost completely to the rear. Don't like the front centre speaker which dominates or the bass which comes entirely from the front too. Bass needs to be below and behind in a car imho. Also find the fidelity at the top and bottom of the Range pretty non-descript too. As the yanks sometimes say "no highs, no lows, gotta be Bose!"

The Bose in my b5 rs4 was much much better.

+1 the acoustics are crap, and the amount of road noise and various other things take away a lot of the benefit of the B&O anyway
It's a lovely system, but imho £6k and a system that is really only noticeable stationary or in slow traffic
