Hi guys

Really looking forward to getting some Carbon fibre on the RS6 , I got a link to Carbon works Berlin and have been I touch with them regarding Carbon fibre parts .

They came back with a price of 490 euros inc new parts from Audi ( think they use the original Audi mirror housings as a base) , as you can see from the pics they look pretty good, I was just wondering if anyone has used them before ?

Never tried Carbon Works Berlin, results look pretty good in the pictures. Only concern I would have is if they are using the original mirror housing as a form and building layers of carbon on to that form, then the mirror housing is going to end up "larger" than the original. Maybe they make a reverse/negative form from the original housing- that way the exterior dimensions would be maintained??

I am not a massive carbon fan, however I was considering using a wet dip process to thinly coat the housings should the Alu housings start to get lots of stone chips (none so far thankfully!).

Link to a company that does the dipping here (they were once used on the Wheeler Dealers show).

They said they could match the Audi colour and carbon weave design, cheaper too as I recall.

Wrapping looks terrible IMO as the wrap needs to be stretched to conform to the housing contours and the weave pattern becomes distorted.

I got some prices off carbon works berlin. First they say the laminate adds no more than 2mm of thickness to the OEM part and they use the exact same carbon fabric as used on the C7.

Mirrors were 464 euro+vat, front splitter 400 euro+vat. That's with them buying the parts, you can send them your parts. Splitter wrap was 220 euro + vat straight direction same as OEM, mirrors didn't work out much cheaper. MTM mirrors are £552 + vat and I assume are made in the same process.

I'd be interested in a set of these to replace the OEM silver ones to complete the look. I had a price from another company which was about 3 times what you have been quoted. I see another member had good service an results from www.neidfaktor.com which looks like they do the same process. Anyone know how much ABT ones are and if they are also done the same way? Group buy?
