Matte paint

Hi

I am looking a potentially purchasing a v. low milage 2014 C7 - but it has the matt daytona grey paint finish.

It looks the business - but doing research - it appears it may be very difficult to maintain.

Any views from anyone who already owns ?

Also any views on whether the facelift 2015 model will have anything worth waiting for (given it seems impossible to order new at the moment).

Cheers
Matt

There is a thread about this here:
viewtopic.php?f=76&t=107051

However, since then, most people I've spoken to who have had or got cars with Matt paint (not wraps) have said that it just isn't worth it mainly because it is almost impossible to correct problems such as scratches and blemishes without painting entire panels.

Thanks for info !

I'm going to hold out for a daytona grey pearl (either new [facelift]) or if one close to my spec comes up.

Cheers

There are matte paint films about; look around.

Shouldn't be a problem if you get a paint film over it

There is one I have seen a couple of times in Poole and the stealth paint looks fantastic on it - unlike the bright green wrapped E63 I saw in London the other day...

For matte; I'd go with wrap as well.

It does look guuu-ud! (This one is Daytonagray pearleffect, with Gray matte metallic wrap)

Had thought of a matt wrap over mine and spoke to the guys at Valet Magic. £1700. If I decide to keep mine after 3yrs I might go for a wrap to have a change.
