orders cancelled?

Just read a quite alarming post on another site:
Just got a phone call tonight from West London Audi to say Audi had cancelled 105 orders for Audi A6 ultras. My Black Edition Avant was to be here in October. Now being told it will be the New Year at the earliest, which is what Belfast Audi had originally quoted. They have said I can wait, or get my deposit back. My wife says to wait, so does my heart, but my head says **** them and go and buy a 3 series. Not very happy at the minute. What do you have to do to buy an Audi A6 Ultra.??
Anybody know anything about this?? Should this be a worry for those of us (including myself) that have orders for RS6 pending, ordered July with build week of 37 and delivery expected mid-late October?

Yeah mate i found out this morning. My concern was to sort my finance issue as im sure your aware hahah. But the dealer mentioned not due to a facelift but due to a high demand all orders recently placed or not in place just floating about etc will be cancelled. So when i rang my car hadn't been ordered so that means until they come back ill be waiting. Same goes for the RS line up but dont listen to me ring up your dealer in the monring.

Seems so ... Re: orders cancelled?

From what I can piece together, the current "closed" order book covers a number of models including the RS6 (and the allroad, all black editions and the 2.0 TDI ultra), this simply means no new orders for these models can be taken.

In addition to the above "no new orders", it also seems that any order taken for the above models which have NOT been allocated a factory build week have been cancelled / deleted in the system, this is what is putting back delivery dates to the currently "quoted" Q1 2015. But to be honest, IMO until the order book is reopened the dealers are just guessing on Q1 2015

I also heard a rumour that all A6 "exclusive" orders are also affected, by the above

My order was "connected" to a RS6 that had been ordered by Basingstoke in April, but never sold, so never spec'd and therefore never given a build date, Basingstoke inform me that Audi UK have a number of "corner case orders" such as mine and are trying to get a ruling from Germany. I was promised an update towards the end of next week .. I am not holding my breath

My update as of today

Audi UK have told the dealer that they have not cancelled my RS6 order on their system, however we are 4 weeks in and they still are unable to give a build date, this was stated as being "normal" for RS6's and also for cars with exclusive options

I have clearly stated (both verbally and now by email) to my dealer that I do not want the order rolling over to a facelift / MY15 car without them telling me and allowing me the option of cancelling / continuing

So the agreement is we leave it for 4 weeks and talk again re what to do if still in the limbo position of order still in system, but still no build date. :audibash:

Highly doubt they would be able to roll it over onto a facelift car, as the options codes would all be different I guess.

What optiosn have you spec'd?

I've been waiting for a build slot since March and have been told by both Audi UK and the dealer this is not due to the exclusive piant but the ceramic brakes that i have gone for... the estimate is Q1 2015, so almost a year wait?!
having said that, Doodlebug and i ordered roughly around the same time with similat spec's and he has an Oct build date... so bit of a lottery it seems.

In my opinion they're taking the pi** come on since march you haven't had a build date. That's just ridiculous and for most people at the min also left hanging with no car no build date and no confirmation when they'll open books again for order.

I told my dealer .. ok we leave it 4 more weeks .. but then if no build date I reserve the right to cancel for full refund etc .. I'll go order a Porsche instead

Gdavison I cant blame you they're fantastic cars and my choice by a far mile. But whats going on now and for I don't know how long is ridiculous nobody has a clear answer date etc nothing. Everybody is saying something different I wish I never sold my V10 now if I knew this was going to be the outcome most stressful and annoying car purchase ever not just for me Imo sure many audi has seriously cocked this up whatever is going on especially for people who ordered march may time and still no build date. And Gdavison same as you mate if the book doesn't open in next 4 weeks Imo getting my deposit back and haven't a clue what Imo doing.

Couple of nice spec cars dropping into high 60,s on Autotrader.

Is it really that important to have a brand new car and wait months when you can get a car with only a few K on clock for thousands cheaper?

orders cancelled?

Down to spec and previous use. There's a reason those cars are cheap. There's a red one on AT that keeps going down. Got to be something wrong with it.
