Surely those car have had security wheel bolts. If so, what would be the way to try and prevent such an unpleasant surprise happening, obviously without keeping the car locked in a secure garage since this is not an option available to most of us?

Are they low enough for you, Golf?

OEM locking bolts are poo, EVO locking bolts for the win. Did they nick the discs and callipers on that C7?
No matter where you go, there you are.

Rear discs and callipers intact, not so sure about the front.

What country Golf? Can't quite make out the plate.

They were for the C5 which used the older style:

But the C6 and C7 use the newer style which are a lot sturdier:

Not that it makes a difference, there are tools readily available to remove pretty much any locking bolt.

Those C6 jobbies look like McGuard SLs. Not bad but not great.

The problem with the Audi ones are that there are only a set number of configurations and most tyre / wheel garages have the full set. you can pretty much guarantee any fairly recent Audi will have a set of OEM locking nuts and therefore they are pretty useless. I'm surprised we don't see more of this sort of crime especially as they are pretty easy to sell with no serial numbers. Pretty hard to prove a set on ebay came off your car unless they are very unique.

Have to ask, Trups... are you the one doing this?

Never in my life have I seen this in Sweden.... but thankfully I don't live in the crappy parts... (Stockholm or Malmö).
