Confirmation of Build slot??

Hi All,

I placed an order around 4 weeks ago and haven't had a confirmed build week yet for the car. Like most of you guys I've ordered new cars before and I normally would have known by now roughly when the car will be built. I've just moved over from a string of Bmw's a Porsche and haven't purchased a new factory built Audi for some years, has the process changed or should I have known by now?
I've chased the dealer for an update but just wanted to know if they take longer than other manufacturers to confirm build weeks etc??

Cheers
Parm

Hmmm, it is a bit of a lotto. It will be driven by availability of slots. If your car isn't due until Q4 I wouldn't expect confirmation of build week yet.

Ask to see the order form out of the VAG ordering system. Your dealer can pester the R8 team (who also deal with RS cars) at Audi UK for an update of sorts.

They had a grey RS6 at Bristol today with 21" wheels. They had a C6 there as well.

C7 FTW. Awesome arches, huge wheels, nice grill, lovely lights. Definitely a lot more aggressive looking than the C6. No pics as it had the delivery wrappers on still.

OMG !!! Just had an email from the dealer. Apparently even though I ordered the car over a month ago it's now been pushed back from the original Nov(ish) build to week 47 (16th Dec) and this isn't even confirmed!! Why is the build being pushed back ? Are Audi getting more orders than they expected or something? I'm only annoyed as I traded in my 911 turbo as I was originally told no more than 3 months to get the car and now we're talking 6months min!! Any suggestions???

Physical cars will be available elsewhere, dealers have pre-ordered for stock. Downside will be limitation on colour and spec.

Nothing you can do with your actual order other than see if they will lend you something in the interim, but go nicely to start off!

Pick your reason for delay, could be anything.

Mine went all over the place so you'll just have to wait and see what happens nearer the time.

It can be spec dependent too which could move yours back in favour of others

Apparently it a 'priority build' not sure what that means tbh. I'm back in the country in Saturday so I'll have a chat with the dealer next week to see if amending the spec would get me a car sooner. It's not even that crazy as far as spec goes usual pan roof, 21" s, performance pack, led lights and a few mod cons inside so if they have got cars available I'm sure they'd only charge me more!! Keep you posted

Don't bank on anything until it is at least in the country from my experience from both Porsche and Audi - both part of VAG

had a call from the local dealer to say they had a car in that can be viewed in the showroom - popped by to take a look as not seen one in the flesh yet (loving it personally, the 21in wheels give it perfect proportions!).

Anyway, the car is sold already but its not allowed on the road until september - must be so frustrating for the chap who's bought it!

By chance, Audi brought a white C7 RS6 along to a show in the highlands on Friday, where I'm currently on holiday.

I got to have a good nose round it, sat in it, fired it up. I wasn't able to drive it, but the sales guy encouraged me to blip the throttle in Dynamic mode, which resulted in nice crackling noises on overrun. The instrument binnacle is a bit weird with the angled speedo and rev counter, but overall it feels like a slightly more modern version of the C6 with some extra features and trendy interior design tweaks.

Although I'm on my way out of RS6 ownership (due to need for a car which can tow), I'd be very eager to drive on in case I feel that I need a C7 in my life.
