Back on subject any update on the OPs car?
Andy not much of an update suffice to say Audi don't know what caused the failure. The dealer sent all the details to Germany and they came straight back requesting the car be checked for any evidence of mapping??? None found and not mapped by me 👍 Next step to remove and check turbos. I think this could be some time before I get a fixed car.
Can't say I'm feeling the love for the manual A4 Avant tdi courtesy car 😫😫😫
ouch, sounds serious. At least you bought from Audi and have an Audi warranty for piece of mind though. hope you get it back soon

Update . Not good news looks like new engine and two new turbos. Believed its dropped a cyclinder. This is a very good reason why not to map a car if it's under warranty. Cost wise with labour we are looking at 30k ffs 😫😫😫

Ouch! But sort of good news as it sounds like are getting the job done properly (replace the lot).

Well it didn't take long for my 3rd one to come along. TPMS pinged on the dash. Nearside rear deflated. I take a look and there's a screw right in the sidewall. The fronts are 3mm and the rears have about 4mm. All 4 will need changing. Boom £940 gone in a blink.

Ok so having only had my new PE for four weeks, and it covering only 500 miles, a 10" x 4" circular steel missile, from the opposite side of the M1 motorway, decides to appear at breakneck speed from the central reservation and into the front of the car. It smashes through the front splitter and bumper, hits the bottom of the radiator and then goes under the car and bangs a huge hole in what I expect to be the sump. Oil sensor light appears, as does loads of fragments in my rear mirror, and I just manage to pull over safely into the hard shoulder. Not amused when I step out and see the damage and road covered with oil...

Oh man

What is going on!?

The £30k engine bill clearly wins - that's horrendous. Is it all on you because of the map?

I thought I'd join the party. Notice of intended prosecution arrived today. Whooppee. 42 in a 30, and it wasn't even in the RS! In the flipping TT. Hoping I get off with a speed awareness course

No fortunately I didn't get it mapped. It was booked in at MRC but due to work I cancelled the appointment a couple of days before. This is all under Audi extended warranty 👍👍

Had 10k of work carried out under warranty 3 months ago on my previous 6 after an engine valve spring broke... thankfully that was standard too.

That is incredibly unlucky mate, especially as it found its way under the car and wrought havoc. A few years ago a lorry threw up a big bolt in front of me on the A14, it hit the grill, bounced on the bonnet, hit the screen and then hit the car behind. It cost a few quid but I still feel lucky that it didn't come straight through the screen.

Kinda feeling both lucky and unlucky... could have been so much more dangerous!

Kinda good news, hopefully they'll just throw a complete new lump in for you. I'd rather that than the stealers try and rebuild the engine. Now you'll have a brand new engine, how many miles on the car?

Wonder if it's the oil cooler or sump that's had the pisser? Either way, that's seriously unlucky, but also lucky someone didn't swerve out the way and cause an accident.
Hope it's not too expensive for you.
