GFV figure after 2yrs and 5k miles Pa.

SQ7 = £46,209.90. For comparison the RS6 = £44.293.97.

That's pretty shocking! And I bet adding 10k options makes dick all difference to that GFV

The only options to make a difference are the 21" or 22" wheels which make it cost neutral per month. Nothing else makes a significant difference to the GFV, just a few £ here and there. It's a shame becasue I thought with the Q7 being the first Audi to take options into consideration for GFVs, Audi might have been a bit more generous... clearly not.

So with only a couple of options on my spec (styling pack, 22's and fbsw), the £2k equity in my RS4 and a £1500 deposit contribution (that's all he's able to give at launch, but can add more later down the line) makes the numbers as follows on Audi solutions:
Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 19.13.34.png
On those numbers, I'm out, until discounts become available. As you say, put some major options on it like HUD, Sports pack etc, and that's a serious battering to take in 2yrs.

Thats sub-optimal
If you are going to have the GFV of the RS6 at least match the RS6 discounts !
They will not sell many at that price; I am with you and will wait until the monthlies look better (lower price or higher GFV)

This car is a rip off at the moment.

I just built a like for like spec with my RS6 (will be on the drive in 2 weeks!!) and the SQ7 was more expensive:

AAQBCANO

Some of the options you have to pay for are incredible, like the net between the boot and seats.

OK before discount the RS6 was a touch more expensive, but with dealer discount, finance contrib etc etc this car is £13k more expensive.

I know where my money went, and I have no regrets there!!

Not good. There cannot be many more cars out there worse depreciation wise for just 10,000 miles!?

That's a huge monthly payment - but only 3500 down looking at those figures?

There's not much in the Audi range that can match it for depreciation I don't think. As Boff says, the RS6 is lower but it's at the end of its lifecycle and Audi are supporting with large discounts and lower APR.

The deposit and monthly payment, however, are largely irrelevant, you're just robbing Peter to pay Paul e.g put in more money to bring the monthly down, but it's still your own money. The figure that matters is the one you get after minusing the GFV value away from the total cost. For the minimal spec I was quoted, its £46k away from £81k. So add a few normal options and suddenly you're on a £40k+ cost in two years. To put it into perspective my well specced B8 will have cost me £19k in two years.

When I saw the cost of the SQ7 I thought it was rather high, not a £20k premium over the 3.0 S-Line, but that was magnified when I saw the options are pretty much the same on both! I wonder if Audi are trying to claw back development costs for this new engine type.

Or to to it in another perspective, its depreciating an entire S4 or RS3 in 24 months..... :drink:

True story!

Having deliberated on the spec, I've kept reminding myself that it's well equipped out of the box, so I'm sticking to aesthetic options only, and a few things like sun blinds and rail system. So all I have to do is choose a colour to go with the black styling package and the 22s. I think I'm down to four...

Night black

Daytona

Pure white

Sepang

I was originally sold on Sepang, but having accidentally selected white, I think it looks rather good and highlights the details better! Black on black looks good too, then there's Daytona for the more understated look.

Choices choices. I do love the early days of car speccing/choosing! :thumb:
Defo the White! I had the old q7 before the beast and this is the first time I've seen the new q7 looking so goodImage

Discounts have started early! My dealer rang today and said he can now sanction up to £6500 off the base price of a SQ7. Hardly any have been ordered apparently, so Audi are pushing the discount early. I can't say I'm surprised at that price, 'still a no go for me though.
