I heard there was some down hill skiing as well.
Re: Not happy at all....
Tbh, I would skip the DP. He's gonna want to cover his arse and protect him team.
Complain to MD AUK, as although it's a Used car it was sold as Approved Used and that is a manufacturer led program with Standards to meet.
I would complain to the CEO of Sytner UK, who will forward it to their Audi Brand Director to give the DP a bollocking.
Write it in a grown up manner, you don't want any compensation, you have your money, but the point is they showed as much as two fcuks for the situation which clearly isn't going to win them any future custom.

Personally I'd not bother with AUK, they have proven to me on numerous occasions, including Andre, that they are spineless.
Brand director for dealer group more likely to have some cahoonas. I would give the DP first bite, but I hear DK's point of view.

DP is dealer principal not principle, though he may lack a few of the latter

True. It's whatever Mr Apple decided at the time. #cantbearsed
Re: Not happy at all....
I had a similar tail of trouble with Mercedes of Macclesfield when buying a pre-owned CL600 years ago.
First of all document the timeline, with any evidence emails etc
Then look on LinkedIn for senior people in that organisation. (likely a chain of dealers)
Send this letter to the Dealer and also copy someone in senior position in customer services in Audi.
I got the salesman who had done this rogue act on me fired. Sounds a bit evil but he did a lot of below the line things.
You know all those "we want your feedback" emails. Slash them to bits. Give p*ss poor feedback and copy the notes from your timeline into it. The dealers are marked and reviewed on their customer service. Why do you think that they all try so hard around the sales process. In mosts cases (away from revenue earning sales reps) they have a portion of their salary based on the review.

CL600. A naturally aspirated V12 just isn't powerful enough....

Re: Not happy at all....
That car was one of the most under-rated cars I have ever run. V12 sound, amazing interior - best use of alcantara ever. It was the coolest drive and more relaxing to do super miles in than anything, interestingly the CL63 with the old Natural 6.2 V8 AMG block was not the same. Chalk'n'Cheese forced package of cool car and crazy revving engine just did not gel. It ruined me for a lot of other cars. I had a Continental GT before it and it had a great interior and V12 but overall it just left me bored.
The early stages of the experience with the franchised dealer nearly ruined it, We agreed a lot of things that needed doing before the sale and when I went to collect the car almost none of them had been done. Macclesfield to Winchester is not a short run making it doubly annoying. Then I found a couple more over the next week. Then they gaff'd the repairs. I don't usually go ferral but they needed a boot up the a**e and with persistence they got it.
Zero score on feedback
Build single consistent text and use it to all
Name people specifically don't just go after the the whole company
Push it to the motoring press and speak to a person in the magazine. If they make a call on your behalf it lights things up. "I am writing a section on pi&& poor service and have an example from your dealership I wanted to get a comment for the article on" it usually causes a prompt reaction.
Never take a knife to a gun fight.

Re: Not happy at all....
Isn't all this talk about complaining getting a little out of hand?
Going back to page 1 and all I can see is a crack in the windscreen and an oil leak that one garage found and another one didn't. The rocking driver's seat is commensurate with a very high mileage car previously owned by a guy who admitted he was quite heavy. The rest is just fluff and hysteria.
Maybe the dealer should have spotted the leak and the screen but I am struggling to find genuine evidence here of misrepresentation.
I sold my last car at 100K miles and it was immaculate. But it wasn't really, was it? As we all know, there is no such thing. It had some stone chips, and a little wheel kerbing, and the driver's seat was a little worn and the wheel a little shiny at the ten to two. I could go on, but you get the idea. It was a genuine car with an immaculate full service history. The battery packed up a week after I sold it but the person who bought it didn't start accusing me of subterfuge and fraud. He recognised he had a good car for a bargain price and he went out and bought a new battery.
This RS6 was a high mileage car and the previous owner was on here saying no expense had been spared, there is no evidence to the contrary and I have no reason to believe the first owner wasn't telling the truth. The car was priced accordingly. Had the OP had the engine out - and I understand it was going to be done under warranty - then it would have been all square and a bargain car.
My car is 18K miles and it has some stone chips, a windscreen chip and one little scuff on a wheel and a slight rattle at some speeds. I still think it's immaculate but then I live in the real world where everything is comparative. When I bought my car, I wanted it to be genuinely immaculate. So I bought a new one.
Not sure what all the fuss is about.

Re: Not happy at all....
Wildbore - I don't disagree with you.
I still purchased the CL even after a crappy experience. I wanted them to be honest and deliver what they promised. I was not prepared to spend another 3 months finding another needle in the haystack. CL600's were not common.
In many cases people within the dealership may have enough latitude to play a game. If you take it up the ranks it can be resolved correctly. In my case they tried to hide it before sale and then shortcut the resolution as well. When it did go up to MB and management it got resolved and I ended up with the car I was promised. It ended up being a wonderful experience.
Planks can work for franchised dealers (or even vendors as many MB resellers are MB owned) or independents. The great things about these forums is that you can get empirical evidence on those that have proven true. It was a great help to me when I ordered the RS6 through one of those a short time back.

Re: Not happy at all....
Having spent £44000 on a car, regardless of whether or not it was a cheap C7, I don't expect to have a list of issues with the car and the service I have received. There are also other issues that have not been discussed on the forum relating to misrepresentation of certain things. I am not one to kick up a fuss about nothing, and am not trying to get any kind of compensation, I just feel that I have a right to relay my experience to senior management, and this is exactly what I have done this afternoon, in the form of a detailed letter.wildbore wrote:Isn't all this talk about complaining getting a little out of hand?

Re: Not happy at all....
Well, of course, if there are real issues that you didn't discuss on the forum, then that's different. But, if I go back to your own original post, you draw our attention to stone chips that had only been touched in instead of the front end being repainted, paperwork arriving in three different envelopes (three! They could have sold the car at a lower price if they weren't throwing all the revenues away on postage!), a missing MoT when in fact you cannot MoT a car more than one month before it is due, and other issues that weren't really issues at all (check out the thread about people having laser alignment done on new cars and finding them wrong from the factory).
Perhaps the dealer was being a bit lazy with the car inspection and preparation, but they gave you a complete refund at considerable cost to them, so I would say you have already made your point to them quite forcefully.
