Lastly David, you still feeling the map benefits now it's been a week or so or have you adjusted to the gain . I always thought going from stock to map on other cars was ok! But going from map to stock was horrendous !
Without doubt I still feel the benefit every time I go out in the car. An increase of nearly 100BHP and 200Nm is hard not to notice. I'm still delighted I had it done and it was worth every penny. Not sure I'd been keen on having a 'standard' map installed though. The reason I used JFA is that they do every car of this power on the dyno and create a totally custom map for that car. As no two engines/drive trains are identical in performance, I think this has to be the better way. Just my opinion.

Regards

Thanks David ,

Great to hear your still loving the new performance gains :beerchug:

How I've always understood it is company's like JFA use there stock RS6 mapping for the car, then they fine tune to extract the few extra horses havi g the car on and off the dyno, the Dyno heats the gear box up a lot over stress point which isn't great and I didn't like the sound of. I could be totally wrong here on the generic map but every car using a complete new custom map without the original map file first isn't what I belive happens?

DMS RS6 maps are highly sort after they have a reputation not just in the UK but across Europe of being quality tuners I'm sure they use they look at original read outs they apply the DMS software, doubt they are just plonking some downloaded map they got offline, I spoke to the tech last week he was flying out to Dubi to get a fezzer tuned with flights paid by the client just to get there software on .

After paying JFA £500+VAT x2 for engine and "gearbox" map after recommendations from 2 "senior" forum members I went to MRC.

They were rofl at the map

Engine map worst MRC had ever seen.

Gearbox "map" said it had not been touched.

I challenged JFA who would not return a penny.

Don't touch him with a barge pole.

john ford automotive

i was recommended to him by the first 2 guys who went 900+hp on the c6 rs6 in this forum

they subsequently went to mrc to get their cars done properly but as a newbie i didnt know about mrc, had just got the car so just went with their bad advice.

I went to him about 3-3.5 years ago then went to mrc

he charged me £500+vat for the engine and gearbox "maps" for a total of £1200

complete waste of money, he fucked around all day then declared he couldn't "access" my control units, then was on the phone for ages, i guess he got a generic map from somewhere else?

he also said he'd mapped my gearbox and gave me a plug in unit for the car port. mrc lolled at the plug in thing and after checking declared my gearbox hadn't been touched.

I've got the map sheets from mrc before and after, they showed me. said it was the worst map they had ever seen, was night and day better after MRC.

tried to have it out with him, but he refused to refund any money, and i couldn't be arsed to travel there again to discuss it in person.

One bad experience shouldn't rubbish a company. I couldn't be happier with their professionalism and service. Look them up on a few independent review web sites and see what others have to say. Then make up you're own mind but please don't base it on one persons experience.

Not that it might apply to your "map" but MRC showed me on mine how "dangerously" he had made mine, ie real potential to damage the engine....

Never mind he lied to me about the gearbox "map" ....and fucked me £600 for that alone....

Hi Don edit! Sorry mate
after you already had the map why did you still pursue another could you tell so thing was wrong . Tbh in this game I woulnt go anywhere without years of history in mapping RS6s and others . These £250-£600 maps are bought from software company's like precision code works etc (nothing wrong with PCW) and passed on problem is these too many firms saying there custom built for there car , no chance .
DMS offered me a gearbox map but tbh I don't see it's needed stage 1 .
Dom, now your running MRC everything great and taking all in to count do you still agree with your map route or now wish you stayed stock with the Agro?

Don ;)

My experience at JFA I had a bad feeling watching the guy work that day, but had already paid. Soon after, the guys who had talked me into going there went to MRC to sort their cars, first guys to go 900+hp on rs6 c6 (problems)

So, soon after I went to MRC also finding out more about RS cars and MRC etc (yes, naive i trusted 2 guys on here thought knew what they were talking about, new to Audi)

After MRC my car was night and day better, faster, faster gear change, I checked on timing gear MASSIVE improvement 0-100 mph 6.3s

I have no agenda other than what I've said happened to me

Gearbox map makes faster gear change and "smoother" (dunno if placebo) also MRC raise rev limit to allow 200mph+ 6th gear very tall unless 800hp+

MRC map 770hp and 1100+nM for 3.5 years or so now, no problems, touch wood....

Hi David, agreed the Internet can be a unfair arena for company's. I'm to far away to have heard of these guys anyway, I've heard a few mapping company's stander others it's nothing new I was told by a local firm close to me that litchfield have blown more RS gear boxes than Katy Price has blown footballers .

Hi Don , apologies bud.

No one would make that tale up for sure, I've heard some horror story's which is the reason I aways stuck with DMS and they always seem to have 100k plus cars in there every week a good sign right .

Your MRC a stage 2 did they switch out the oil pump on your at 770? Coils sparks induction mods too ?

No worries :)

I bought my car nearly 4 years ago now, from research I found out it had a very "early" DMS map 640hp(?)

The previous owner was a multi millionaire (multiple car ownership)(confirmed)

only "mods" I have are sports air filters,"Demand Engineering" full custom downpipes and exhaust and MRC engine and gearbox map

Also have some "mods" on the brakes (needed, lol) "pheaton mod", braided hoses, upgraded fluid, DS2500 pads

First Audi, first RS, love it :) although "big"

Been pretty much reliable and very fast

Nearly 4 years ownership, not looking to change, but what to go to anyway??

That's a lot of power, 770 is a crazy amount of horses running riot !!
Early DMS huh how did you find this out in the end?

Really great to hear on the 4 years with no need to jump ship, map I was contemplating was stage one DMS 700bh not really the power it's needing as its boost I was after as I mentioned before .

What to go to, I really love the RS . Do like the crayon Panamera turbo but 4 seats ppffttt! SVR .. Nah I stay away from RR now, so I'm holding now for at least 18 months or when the C8 is out but not thinking that far ahead now .

Ps I have ask " pretty much reliable " ha ? :D
