Lowering and / or spacers
Re: Lowering and / or spacers
Definitely spaced, look at the bottom of the wheel and the sill, it sticks out further.
Not sure on ride height. It looks much lower than mine was when standard, but so does Kav's car.

Re: Lowering and / or spacers
That's what I'm aiming for short term, then sort new wheels for summer. All the kits sat in the garage just need to find someone down here to fit it. Any suggestions anyone in southwest?

That looks perfect to me. Subtle.
Don't get the slammed look on these cars - maybe at 53 I am too old

Re: Lowering and / or spacers
Does anyone know or have links to decent wheel spacers? 10 or 12mm. I can find 15-20 but from what I can see the best option seems to be 10mm.
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Lowering and / or spacers
Have you tried Revolution or Virdee?
Re: Lowering and / or spacers
From what i've seen, H&R do a few different options. Assume the PCD and all that business is similar to other VAG cars.
I don't like 'slammed' cars either but just hate wheel arch gap. When you see a concept car, it will always be much lower than the production car because they have to make compromises for usability, pedestrian impacts etc. Likewise, a higher offset wheel is used to prevent stonechips. These are compromises which eat away at me - i pick up on them immediately!
I will be basically copying Mike exactly lol.

Re: Lowering and / or spacers
Yes it does look good. Not sure on the wheel colour but the stance is good.
Re: Lowering and / or spacers
Rob, you are right there are so many different options even if you have the the right PCD, I recall differences in flange sizes, flange angles etc. That's why I said go to Revolution or Harder. They know the cars and will get the right fitment for you. I was taking recently to birdie about H&R spacers as they do black ones now too.robf wrote:From what i've seen, H&R do a few different options. Re: Lowering and / or spacers
I am with Markp
old (but not quite that old) but like the width of the spacer image but not so keen on the lowered look. Different stokes etc.
Am I right to assume you need to mention spacers to your insurance co? Any other downsides eg warranty impact or otherwise?
Now for the dumb(er) question do you fit spacers just by sliding them between the wheel and the hub and using existing bolts and torque settings?

Yes, but you will need longer bolts and locking wheel bolts.

Cheeky bugger. At least I bought a 6, not a Honda Jazz. Still life in the old dog.MikeFish wrote:

Re: Lowering and / or spacers
I think 20mm drop and spacers will give the right look, without worrying about speed bumpers catching the exhaust or anything. Mike, I love how aggressive your drop is but I'm not wanting to compromise usability on this car the same as I was happy to do on previous (charged RS4 was about an inch higher than the first one but even it would some times scrape).
