I'll try again when I get 5 mins, or perhaps a day free
He said something about a link, or something being broken.... all over my head.
He's not local to me, so I'll have to work it out myself when I get the time.
If there's an easy step by step instruction out there, a link would be appreciated greatly.

When not walking on water I fly through the air with the greatest of ease.
Re: What a ride!
For the above I put both images for the .bmp, obviously the first one should be a .csv file!!

Does the car give warning you are approaching the camera "zone"?

For speed camera detection and alerts I use Cyclops Speed Camera Detector...
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/cyclops ... 44137?mt=8
Only £3 a year, together with a CD Mount (http://www.cdslotmount.com) it fits perfectly in the car and is very helpful!
If you are playing music through your phone then the alerts will come through the cars speakers.

Perfect, thanks!Schoolfit wrote:Oh God...... There's a whole massive thread about it but.......hdpete wrote:How do you upload speed camera locations as POI?
Go to pocketgps site and download the Garmin style POI's. How to on the site.
You then upload the .csv or compatible files through myAudi in the audi connect section. Click on "Add personal POI". When you do this you add a specific image to each type of camera. This is the .bmp file or whatever the picture file designation is.
Now, you have to have java updated and installed for the next bit!!
Once you've added the POI's to the Individual Special Destinations in myAudi you then click the download button. This will download a .jnlp file. Bear in mind I'm on mac so might vary for widows.
Right click and select open with java the .jnlp file. It's like unzipping it and converting to files the mmi recognises. The java runs an audi converter tool where you need to log into again.
You are then left with a POI file where you chose to download it to. Format a 32gb or bigger sd card/USB stick and copy the POI folder over.
Goto car and select Set Up MMI. Scroll down to system update. The relevant SD1 or SD2 or USB should be highlighted. Select it and choose to update. The camera locations will be in your special destinations under Navigation Destinations.
I found it a bit temperamental....not always recognising the card but got there in the end.
Re: What a ride!
Schoolfit, thank you very much!! More than I expected, cheers.
I'll have a look properly when I get the chance and give it a go.

Re: What a ride!
But what good is a camera database without the audible alerts? You can't spend your whole time scanning the nav map on the off-chance of seeing an approaching camera. Surely better to fit a dedicated device.

What harm will it do? If you don't like don't do it, simple.wildbore wrote:But what good is a camera database without the audible alerts? You can't spend your whole time scanning the nav map on the off-chance of seeing an approaching camera. Surely better to fit a dedicated device.

I think you could add the warnings before but I couldn't do it this way. If I figure it out I'll post.wildbore wrote:But what good is a camera database without the audible alerts? If you're a gadget lover like me then you'd do this just to have the icons on your map! Just because.

Re: What a ride!
Ah....
So it will plot the POI within the map/database, but it won't give you a heads up when you get close.

Re: What a ride!
Unfortunately not. It's a POI which do not get warnings anyway.RSVI wrote:Ah....

I had a look at the original post that I got it from and there is no warning to be gotten. Guy who posted was called Taurus I think.
As I said, the gadget man in me loved this regardless and it's better to have than not have at all.
I think....... If you really had the inclination, you could add the speed cameras on your route as stop overs or something like that. Bit of a pain though! You just filter the special destinations.
