On my final traffic jammed run with the RS6 I achieved 28.5mpg over about 160 miles of motorways with a third being in 50mph average speed check areas.

Strangely, since February this year when I got the car I haven't seen a single RS6. Not one. On the day I changed to my 911 a seemingly exact duplicate of my RS6 hurtled (literally) past me in Swindon! I thought it was the Porsche center taking my car to it's new owners!

How's the 911 so far?

We're Porsche reasonable with the trade in?

I've done around 300 miles so far and it is amazing to drive. So fast. I really wouldn't have expected it to feel so much quicker given the figures but it is.. and everything is quicker.. gear changes, throttle response, cornering, braking is like hitting a padded wall. From a standstill the car just does not stop pulling.

I really miss keyless entry and keyless start. I constantly try to open the door with key in pocket and then put it back in pocket when I get in and wonder why I can't find the start button. I'll get used to it.

I am not missing the HUD that much. I prefer the way the phone system works in the car and the touch screen. I miss the volume control on the wheel but most MFC functions are available on a stalk... but not volume.

Fuel consumption (on topic!) - overall it seems to be about 3-5mpg better than the RS6 in all situations. I got a little over 30mpg on the way home and I wasn't trying at all.

My only criticism so far are rattles from the cup holder area on the dash and the sunroof. Generally there are simply more sounds from the interior than the RS6 although this understandable to a degree with the harder suspension. I haven't yet decided whether to leave the rattles or to take the car in for them... they aren't a big deal right now.

Trade in:

Pretty good I felt although not quite as good as an offer I had from GC motors in Harrogate on a Panamera Turbo S (2K improvement). It is, of course, always difficult to tell what is discount off the top end and what is trade in..

I've done 14,000 miles in mine since I picked it up on Jan 2 2014
Overall average so far is 22.8 mpg
In town I get 14 if its free from traffic and about 11 if not. Driving in town in sport mode leaves you with nothing but 8-11
I tend to do a lot of long distances on motorways and then I'll get 26-28 - except when leaving from or arriving back in London where the town driving slice will drop any run down into 24-26
"Spirited" A/B road driving leaves you with sub 15 no matter what you do
"Proper" driving leaves you sub 10
