15mm spacers
Re: 15mm spacers
So got my spacers and bolts fitted today. Along with some OE 20’s from OE silver 21’s and it looks a million times better! The fitment is bang on. And the bolt lengths were fine. With no catching on the front. And plenty of engagement on the rear.
For reference I fitted;
OE 20’s with 275/35.
12mm spacers on the front.
15mm spacers on the rear.
The bolts fitted were the ones supplied with the spacers.
The locks are McGard black series 41mm with radius seat
On measuring alone the lock bolts are 1mm to short on the rear and 2mm to long for the front. But in use as I say. There’s plenty of engagement on the rear. And no interference on the front. All meaning I only need one locking wheel key.
I’ll take some pics tomorrow for you too see.
All that’s left ride wise is to loose some arch gap! KW HAS kit inbound!!!
Craig.

Re: 15mm spacers
Hey Craig (and everyone else too)!
I received my 12's and 15's today, cant wait to fit them, however -
IMPORTANT QUESTION......(I NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE)
The OEM bolts have ball seat but are swivel (the ball seat is like a captive washer that is loose on the thread)....the bolts i've got with the spacers are ball seat but not swivel, it is just one piece if you get what i mean.
Q. Am I okay using the non swivel type??
Thanks for any help people.

Re: 15mm spacers
My (longer) bolts have the floating head - they're H&R.
I believe these are recommended to protect the softer alloy wheel from the twisting of the bolt as it's tightened - you risk introducing surface cracking in the wheel over time without them.

Re: 15mm spacers
Hi Gary,
The floating seat allows for a true torque loading of the bolt into the hub. But in reality as long as everything is clean. The true torque loading will be very near with non floating seats.
In my opinion (a 24 years experience aeronautical engineer) the fixed ones you have. With the caveat that everything is clean.
Craig.

Re: 15mm spacers
Thanks guys.
I went ahead with the fixed head type after seeking advice (and actually not being able to find the loose radius type)...since then I have found them (typical).
In other news, I ordered spacers front and rear, and only 1 pack of bolts (10), so I have only been able to fit the front spacers for now (with fixed radius, which i had to cut 4mm off the end of each bolt
)
I can't find a UK stockist of the H&R bolts so will have to order from the usual lot, and wait 10 days for delivery (probably). Gutted. Although i will now order the loose radius type.
For the record, if anyone finds themselves in my position in future:
I have C7 2013, fitting 12mm spacers on front and 15mm spacers on back.
2455668 - H&R 12mm Spacers (112 x 5, 66.5mm centre)
3055668 - H&R 15mm Spacers (112 x 5, 66.5mm centre)
I one set of these ordered these bolts (I should have ordered 2 sets, one set for each axle
):
1454303SET - H&R Bolt (SET, includes 8 standard + 2 locking) M14 x 1.5, 43mm length, 13mm radius seat - NOTE: THESE ARE TOO LONG FOR 12mm spacers (I took a 4 mm off) to fit front spacers. They also are fixed radius which may be fine but actually i did want to find the loose radius type.
So, I will now order these (1 set of each), and do it properly...
For the 12mm spacers I SHOULD HAVE ORDERED 1453903SET - H&R Bolt (SET, includes 8 standard + 2 locking) M14 x 1.5, 39mm length, 13mm loose radius seat
For the 15mm spacers I SHOULD HAVE ORDERED 1454203SET - H&R Bolt (SET, includes 8 standard + 2 locking) M14 x 1.5, 42mm length, 13mm loose radius seat

Will your set up be suitable for the 2017 C7 Model?gary.gary.gary wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 10:31 amThanks guys.

Re: 15mm spacers
I believe so buddy, just check your wheel hub details:
112 x 5, 66.5mm centre is the spec of my wheel hub. This means their are 5 threaded holes equally spaced on an imaginary 112mm circle (thats the 112 x 5 part), then there's the 66.5mm centre bore.
Yours is the same as mine according to https://www.wheel-size.com/size/audi/rs6/

Yeah, done a bit of research today and agree with you so all good. Maybe considering 15/20mm now though along with a CETE Modulegary.gary.gary wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 5:51 pmI believe so buddy, just check your wheel hub details:

Re: 15mm spacers
ECP stock H&R bolts IIRC
Re: 15mm spacers
George, do you have air suspension or DRC? If you have DRC the cete module is no good as that is for air suspension cars. For a DRC car you will need lowering springs.Paddski wrote: ↑Sat Jun 06, 2020 6:18 pmYeah, done a bit of research today and agree with you so all good.
