what makes a poor experience ?
Having an email from Stafford Audi stating that your car is booked in for a cambelt change and MOT that will be carried out in 1 day. Dropping the keys off first thing in the morning to be then told that they haven't booked the MOT cause they're not sure if the cambelt will be finished in 1 day. Loan car is filthy inside, looks like someone has done the tip run and left waste in the front. Service manager admits they don't check the cars when they come back and says I either take the car or have to sort myself a taxi out !!
Get a phone call midday to say that everything including the MOT will be done by 4.30pm and to come and pick it up. Turn up at 4pm to be told there is a water leak on the car and the MOT hasn't been done. At this point i'm fuming and demand to see the car. They let me go and check the car out in the workshop so I can see what's wrong (i'm a mechanic by trade). Spoke to the apprentice who's working on my car to be told that they snapped a bolt and still tried to re-build it hoping it wouldn't leak!! The service manager was with me at this point and tried to deny it, but couldn't explain why the car is all back together :knob: . I said I would help them fix the car and re-build but not allowed due to insurance (they were correct to do that). Get told that it'll be sorted by the next day.
Next day comes, I ring at midday to check the status, get told i'll have a call back soon. Around 4pm I get the call back and i'm told car won't be ready (i'm about an hour away from dealership on a good day). I then email the managing director to report my issue, he calls me saying he doesn't like to email cause there is then evidence of the issue, and to email back proved he's read and knows about it . Another day passes, same scenario.

4th day, get the car back, driving it home and pop, intercooler hose comes off. Get the car home, strip belly plates and wheel arch liners off, take pictures and do up the jubilee CLIPS that they haven't tightened. Then have to check over the rest of the work. Rang Stafford Audi up the next day to tell them what happened, they say there is no way that would have happened.
I give up with Audi dealerships.
I bought my first RS6 from Stafford. You've received some pretty piss poor treatment. Cannot believe they snapped a bolt and hoped it would be OK! Ridiculous. In the past there have been a couple of times when a garage has claimed "it wasn't us" when a hose has come off or (in one case) a spanner was left jammed between the bonnet and the wing! I thought those days were gone and find it pretty disgusting that Stafford would try to claim that they hadn't made a mistake.

I've found Doncaster Audi to be very helpful when I've dealt with them, both parts and service. However my experience is limited as they haven't done anything major.

I can see Chunky why you are ready to give up. Hopefully there is a 10/10 dealership named under this heading that is not far too far from you?

Oxford (Parts Only) - 3/10 - Ordered the wrong parts twice (1hr round trip to collect) because the parts guy "knew best" despite me having the broken part inc Pt No in my hand.

Tunbridge Wells (sales only) - 2/10
- Went to inspect a "approved part ex" car in "fantastic condition" for RTD on here, looked like the farmer ex-owner had delivered a calf in the boot, leaks everywhere, low fluids, deeply scratched bodywork (too many hedges) and a dog of a car. Who ever wrote the ad is a lying moron and the sales guy just tried to bluff me non-stop about RS6 stuff despite seeing me turn up in mine so I knew the car type!

Maidstone (parts & location) - 6/10
- Always a long delay (5-10 min+) before being seen & absolutely terrible parking availability but once at the desk the parts man is very good.

Maidstone (service) - 7/10
- Oil change only but the tech I spoke too was RS6 trained/experienced and we spent 20mins chatting about the 900hp conversion, the use of water/meth etc and the job was slightly cheaper than quoted but they washed the car despite being asked/told not to.

I've used the 3 closest to me. Wolvo, Halesowen and Stafford, will never use them again. Unit20 and MRC for me from now on. I can't See me being in the position of buying a brand new car any time soon so happy with those guys. I'd even use them if it was a brand new car, think Unit20 can do warranty work?
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.

Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

I had a reasonable experience service with Stafford on my wife's SQ, but we had a freebie because my buying experience a while earlier had been so bad (I wrote to the MD to complain after being blanked and taking my business elsewhere). They are family owned (Swansway I think) and it's really strange that the Audi franchise is so poor when their Landrover franchise is actually very good. I don't understand any aspect of the motor trade, most sales people ignore me (I recently gave up on a new RRS after 3 calls and 2 emails) and in general service departments try to fleece me. I'm wise to it now, but I fear for the young and infirm, they are there for the taking.

Brighton Audi 10 but that may be down to the purchase of 8 new cars over 6yrs?? That's not me but all family. Unfortunately the big dealers work off numbers the more they sell the better deals they get from Audi.

Minor dealings..
Slough 10/10 - used once.
Commute from midlands to slough in RS4 supercharged. Undertray came undone on motorway
Small section snapped off and literally hanging on a few bolts.
Rang them - got me in that day before I left, refitted it, replaced fixings. Showed me damage.
No charge - off I went.
Expected a 100-200 quid bill!

Audi Sheffield - 7/10
Work only - recent work under warranty - no issues. Alarms sorted in 2 days, decent replacement (through roadside assist though)
To get an audi though no spots till 21st July as all cars "out" till then.
Guy in servicing a decent chap but it was really roadside that got it sorted so quick - they were spot on and on a Sunday.
Current -
R8 V10 Plus
Previous -
C7 RS6 Merlin, JBS stg3
997 Gen2 PDK Turbo
Nissan GTR (JM900R)

Teesside Audi (Servicing) ... 6/10
Used on & off over the years. Was very good in their old showroom but went severely down hill when they moved to their new glass box at which point I gave up & started to use York Audi. Has improved quite a bit of late with the addition of Rob Chorley to the team.

Teesside Audi (Sales) ... 1/10
Frankly useless. Despite having various RS cars over the years they've never shown any interest in me what so ever. Tried to buy their old C7 demonstrator a couple of years back. They were delusional on price considering the low spec & condition of the car & were laugh out loud low on the p/x on my old C6. They sold their demonstrator a few weeks later for less than their best & final offer they gave me on it which pretty much shows how they rate my business.

York Audi (servicing) ... 7/10
Was 10/10 a few years back. I've forgotten the guys name but their master tech was ex-RAF. His work station was military precision personified - gave me a real sense of security that my car was in good hands but sadly he left/retired & service levels went back down to usualAudi levels there after. Last time I used them they curbed 1 of my alloys (this was before they extended their showroom so parking was really tight) - didn't notice until a few days later so no point in pursuing them so went back to Teeside Audi for servicing.

Bath Audi (Sales) ... 8/10
Pretty good experience when buying my current steed. Sales guy swapped 1/2 way through without issue. Have been good with aftersales. Got a bottle of champagne & flowers on collection day which was a first - thought that only happened when buying new. Overall would certainly use them again for the right car to justify the journey.
The Present ...
C7 RS6 Avant - Estoril Blue - everything bar B&O - Akrapovic only upgrade (... so far)

The Past ...
C6 RS6 Saloon - Phantom Black - lots of factory extras but no tuning.
C5 RS6 Saloon - Daytona with black Interior - Full Milltek with 100 cpsi cats - AMD Remap - Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers - MTM Bimoto's - Phaeton Brake Upgrade - RNS-E + Bluetooth + Multi-media player + Phatbox
911 (996) Turbo - X50 - Aerokit - PCCB

Hitchin Audi - 9/10 Have purchased 3 cars from them in the last 18 years and trusted them with my B6 S4, and B7 RS4 for servicing etc. Never had a problem other than courtesy car availability.
Hatfield Audi - 8/10 Purchased my B8 RS4 from them which included 2 services with the deal. Took an extra day to sort front DRC, and the read DRC failed in the car park when I collected the car due to the DRC pressure not being correct. My pal bought a Used S3 from them last year and the sales process was a bit painful, and the car had not been checked properly when he collected it. RNSe Pin code missing, and some trim missing. Took a few weeks to sort...

Hatfield were able to give me another courtesy car within 10 minutes of identifying the fault when I went to collect, so my measure is of their ability to react to a problem.
The service department at Hatfield kept me informed and I got a call every day with progress..

Audi Sheffield - 9
I'm not sure what would get a 10! Called them about a concern I had with the state of the engine bay - gravel found in it, plastic cowl poorly positioned at rear of engine bay, gravel was coming through an inspection hole under the cowl where a rubber triangular shaped bung had been left off (not by Audi Sheffield). They were really helpful on the phone and suggested I brought it in the next day for a thorough check whilst I waited completely FOC. When I got there I decided to do an oil change (not due and they made no attempt to prompt me). All the staff very friendly, apologised for my waiting time (which wasn't that long anyway). The charge for the oil service at the end was actually £50 LESS than they had quoted. Met the mechanic before he started work and showed him where the gravel had been getting in, pointed out that some of the clips had been stressed, discussed the concerns generally and he seemed to actually care. They clips were replaced.

Audi Sheffield is part of JCT600 and I've found all their dealerships that I've visited to be pretty stellar over the last few years - Porsche Sheffield, Bentley Leeds, Mercedes Sheffield etc..

Twice I got my S4 home and found tools! The first was a big red screwdriver in the open air, tucked in the windscreen scuttle panel under the trailing edge of the bonnet that somehow stayed in place despite the fact I took the scenic route home and was driving it like I stole it. The second was similar yours - between the bonnet and wing, near the front by the slam panel / headlight
