hope so just for the hybrid turbo s engine alone, as whilst being in the pannie is a nice place to be, I'm still not convinced on the overall looks
It's on the shared platform as is the Cayenne. That doesn't mean you're getting the same car with a different badge mind.

"The light bar at the back alone is worth 50k." Is that the one on the floor behind: does that come with it? : )

I do like the improved look of the 2nd generation Pan'. Having sat in the Turbo at its launch last November, I was told there was no plan for a head-up display and I found myself preferring my Audi's interior.

Now if I was spending quite so much, I think I would be after my mate's F12.

F12 is not in the same price bracket unfortunately. Else I would have had one and not a TTS.

Can't see how Audi's interior comes anywhere close personally....

True, but with the engines being co-developed between Audi and Porsche, on top of all the switch gear sharing that already happens, then the only difference might only end up being cosmetic and tweaks to the dynamic set-up... I can live with the lesser dynamic estate car if the price is £30k cheaper

I know I'm hoping, but I'm not going to fork out £135k plus for a '4+1'

Look at Macan. It doesn't look or drive like a Q5.

Audi have the cash flow issue, not Porsche.

?? What cash flow issue does Audi have? Apart from the one afflicting all VW group members, that is.

Exactly. Porsche are the one of the owners of VWG, no? VW and Audi are the brands that have borne the brunt.

No, VW owns Porsche (although Porsche did make a bid to buy VW a few years back, but failed and ended up being bought by VW instead).

Porsche and Audi are the two most profitable parts of the VW empire and make most of the profit across the entire group.

It's true that Audi and Porsche are sending all their cash back to the Mothership, and cash is pretty tight across the whole group, but I don't think you will see any cash-starved products coming out of Audi's doors - VW know what makes Audi sell (quality, technology) and won't do anything to upset that apple cart.

My error.

But we're already seeing the impact. S4/5 have off the shelf ZF8 with the RS4 set to follow. That's a step back. I think it's clear that there's material impact. C7 is a great car, but it's not put together like C6 was.

The C7 was pretty much frozen in 2010, well before VW fell into financial woes with deiselgate - although that scandal doesn't actually seem to have rocked the VW boat anything like what I was expecting. I am not up on the specs of the S4/5 but I suspect that the decision on those was also made before dieselgate, too.

Any reduction in product quality is most likely to be a deliberate engineering down of the product to increase profitability; but the engineers and accountants will be sure to not let it impact on sales (they will do just enough for us all to reminisce about the good old days but not enough to make us go and buy something else...)

Did u not read their recent financial results. They are in rude health.

When you are the biggest car maker on the planet, you can lie about diesel emissions, pay out $bns and still have a money bath every night
