That was fun running through the lists - some great motors there that brought a smile!

I am 31, so my list isn't that huge but i tend not to keep cars that long.

Clio 172 Sport
Vauxhall VX220
Mini Cooper S JCW
BMW M3 CSL
Brabus Smart ForTwo
Porsche 911 C4S (997)
Porsche GT3 (997)
Porsche GT3 (991)
Audi A5
Porsche 911 C4 Cab (991)
Land Rover Defender
Audi RS6 Performance

My old man and i have a few race cars too: 3x Honda NSX in various stages, a Lotus Motorsport Elise and a '65 Ford Mustang.

Not certain about years so I will just put the cars.

VW 1303S (ha ha, no corners in the wet, no acceleration anywhere)
Triumph Dolomite Sprint (yep the head gasket went, twice, had it race tuned to 180bhp)
Renault 5 GT Turbo (second gen with carb ironsides engine and hot start problems)
Astra GTE 16v (not my personal fav, teardrop shape, company car)
VW Golf GTi 16v MkII - amazing car and loved it
Astra SRi (to call it a dog would be insulting canines, company dog)
VW Golf VR6 first gen, great car.
Volvo 850 T5R saloon sleeper, tuned by TWR, 40,000 miles in two years in exceptional comfort, new tyres every 5,000 on the front!
Porsche 968 ClubSport, one of the most excellent handling cars ever
Porsche 928 GTS, years ahead of its time
Nissan Skyline GTR33Vspec, grey import, 580bhp, 120,000 miles, wicked
VW Phaeton V10 TDi, fastest diesel sofa on the planet
Morgan Aero 8 Series (modern Alloy BMW 4.4 V8 model)
Mercedes CL600 W216 V12 5.5L BiTurbo
Mercedes E63S AMG Estate 575bhp
Morgan Aero Coupe 2013 Geneva Show car.
Audi RS6 Perf.

Several overlapped.
The Morgans remained, they get under your skin a little like splinters.
The Skyline was a grey import before they became famous due to top gear etc. In the end I could not deal with the difficult servicing petrol and fact that everyone wanted to race you. It had a tiny petrol tank and 11mpg on an average day.
The Dolomite was tuned and used for saloon car racing as well as road use, it was actually three dolomites as two got written off during racing.

My dad had a Dolomite Sprint, whereas his best mate got a Lotus Cortina. Despite it being quicker, he was always a little envious of the Cortina, he said, especially as the Dolomite began rusting within months!

My dad won the war though - his mate's Cortina got blown up by the Old Bailey by the IRA in '73

Well where do I start lol don't think I will bother

I am 50 next week  and roughly have 3 cars every 2 years so around 45-50 cars (sometimes I have 2 at once). mental when I see it written down. I could have been a rich man by now but boy I've had some fun along the way lol

most memorable?

E39 and F10 M5
2.8i capri
3 x XR3i
2 x Fiesta XR2
Astra GTE
Manta GTE
Cavalier Coupe
3 x Vauxhall Cavaliers SRi

F10 M5 LCI still no rear grip lol
S7 black Edition Too big and heavy
S3 8V FL DSG 310ps, road noise is a joke

I think I may have the most 'un-illustrious' history posted to date, as well as the biggest leap between my current car and forthcoming RS6...

1991 to 1993 Range Rover ('72, 10 previous owners incl. Manchester Police)
1993 to 1996 Porche 944 ('84)
1996 to 2002 Vauxhall Cavalier CDi ('89)
2002 to 2004 Saab 900 2.3 ('94)
2004 to 2005 Audi A4 1.8 ('94)
2005 to 2010 Audi A4 Avant 1.9 TDi (04)
2010 to 2015 Audi A3 2.0 (05)
2015 to 2017 VW Up!* (63)
2017 Hopefully the RS6 I've ordered!

Bought for Mrs TS7 (all new - apart from the A4 which I signed over to her):

Renault Clio Extreme (02)
2010 to 2012 Audi A4 1.9 TDi (04)
VW Touran 1.4 TSi (12)
MB-AMG GLC43 (66)

*It looked great parked between a 1930 'Blower Bentley' and a Porsche Carrera GT at the 74th Members Meeting last March!

A 2002 Clio Extreme was my very first car. To be a geek, is it an Extreme 1 with the greenish interior, or the more basic spec Extreme 2 with the red interior? I tried to track my car down, but it has been written off. I almost shed a tear!

That is certainly a jump for you, but actually i think i can rival that because i forgot i had a 997 Turbo just after my Smart car. The way you are treated on the road by others is very, very different!!

'twas an Extreme 1 - Metallic black with the light greenish-blue interior. It took pretty much entire can of Autoglym's foaming shampoo and bottle of interior shampoo to get them 'as new' when we sold the car! Whoever has it, it still has a MOT according to the GOV.UK site, only does about 3K miles a year - but it was a great lttle thing for going to town and back.

As to other road users, we've only had the GLC for a week but it seems to have a vehicle permanently 'stuck' to the rear bumper, normally a Ford Transit. Doesn't stay there long once out of a 30 zone, even keeping the revs below 4K for the first 1,000 miles...
