How conservative are MB with their performance / power figures? I wonder how easily it will do 0-62 in 3.4 secs? We know the RS6 is actually in the low 3 seconds to 60 but I seem to recall the A45 AMG being a lot faster in real life than on paper so a good chance the same is true here.

On stilts - still laughing. But E Class = Taxi. Would never buy one. Just go to Frankfurt which is full of beige ones and you will never look at an E the same way again. BHP Wars are great for us!

I have to admit, i quite like it...

Here's a better link with some better pics.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/603-hp-merce ... 41994.html

Its a got the power, i like the 4wd/2wd switching thats something Audi should offer... the RS brand should have silly things like that to appeal to the inner child within ourselves :P

As for the looks, im not so sure... i hope the C8 isnt ruined as i fear it may be, time will tell... i was planning on binning off my C6 for a C7 shortly but after a good long think, im going to hold out and see what the C8 has to offer along with the new E63 and no doubt the new M5, if i dont like them at least it will bring down the price of the C7.

So guess its time to watch this space and see where Audi/BMW go.. seems how we know what merc are doing ( i like everything but its drab looks, maybe in avant form it might be a bit better)

+1 on the Q7 styling, had one as a courtesy car and while the interior was great the exterior just looks wrong. The new grille looks like it's made from sticklebricks (for those old enough to remember!).
Merc interiors are a bit iffy and the cockpits always look too busy with too many buttons. The 'Command' system can be confusing as opposed to MMI and Idrive which are brilliant.
Maybe it's one of those designs that grow on you. The Chris Bangle era at BMW was full of howls of derision when they rolled out but it worked and was ahead of its time probably.
The horsepower war is in full swing which is great for us, almost all M/RS/AMG products are epic cars so everyone's a winner.

its an E-class

since when has that ever had any kudos ?

RS 6, as a brand - is bad boy

C63, I get it ... AMG GT, I get it ... but a E-class will always be a taxi

a lesson to OEM's of how big fleet contracts can define a product.

This will be a great motor and interesting to see how the next RS6 and M5 turn out.

I drove the prevous E63 at MBWorld in Brooklands and it is was a fantastic car and of course sounded brilliant. The 2 wheel drive mode will let them continue to put on their drift show each day on the wet circuit!

It is sitting a bit high though, and needs spacers.
