Finally got a build date!

Build due to start yesterday. It's in Quality Control today. It was either built last week or they've thrown random parts into the wrong coloured shell, to get through to QC that quickly.

Thats normal; Thursday before build it goes into body shop, Friday goes into paint shop, Saturday and Sunday in Assembly then QC on Monday.

I think it must be factory shut down time - I think the Germans take two weeks - I may be corrected on that though.

Mine has been in Quality Control now for over 2 weeks.

Well you're doing better than I am. My order went in on the first week of April and now my build is to commence 24th October!!??

How long does it take for the order to appear on the website?
Placed my order over a week ago but the site doesn't recognise the order number.

Are you using the right order number? It is not normally the one on the order form but one you get later from the dealer. Think it is 8 digits and begins with a 2?

Assuming you've got that, then it can take a week or 2 to appear. Normally need the order to be accepted by the factory I think.

Thanks, finally showing but states "RS 6 Avant is expected to begin construction on 16th January 2017". Was expecting December delivery. Not sure I can or want to wait that long

That'd be March delivery at best. April incurs the new tax regime.

I'd expect delivery about 4 weeks after construction starts.
But that isa hell of a wait. I'd be speaking to my dealer and asking if he can get a build slot sooner and perhaps asking other dealers if they can get you one sooner.

Early in the year is not a good time. Holiday backlog plus pile up for new registration. I'd say four weeks is unrealistic.

Are the dates pretty accurate or likely to move?
I was told once the order has been accepted by the factory you can't cancel.
7-8 months feels way too long imo.
