Wow, cant fault the fabrication and / or welding, looks fantastic. Compared to the milltek welding its night and day. milltek looks shabby.

I like the way the turbo outlet has been formed as well. Not the usual 3" pipe with a cut out and 1/2 a 3" pipe welded over the top to create the wide bell mouth end. this is a proper formed wide end. I guess only time will tell if it cracks or not.

That's lovely quality. Don't they make an exhaust to go with it?

But no idea on what type ? Quite a few grades. Some much better at heat so wondered as the better ones do cost more in raw form.

Agree but most use 304 or 316 and range from 1.2mm to 1.65mm.

E.g Milltek use 304 @1.65mm on some cars and go down to 1.2mm on others

My pipes are 304 and 2mm thick which is actually better than most.

Any news?

I am intrigued by effect of the bigger 3 inch pipes. Did Audi not choose smaller diameter to increase exhaust gas velocity encouraging low pressure after pulse and scavenging effect (I presume they have plenty of engineers calculating this)? If so bigger pipes could lead to no difference - or even loss of power. Have seen that happen with after market set ups on Cosworths.

Cat back is on, downpipes going on this time home.

Cat back deffo made difference. cant quantify but if you look on MRC FB page you can clearly see the power increase with even just a cat back.

Car manufacturers always work to a budget, so if they can get the desired power / effect with a smaller pipe for example and save some money they will. No point having a 3" pipe that can flow over 1000bhp if you only need 560bhp and a 2.5 (or what ever) will suffice.

True - what suits standard output is likely very different from what you are aiming for. Keep us posted.
