C7

Post by Tag17 » Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:12 am

Hi everyone

I’m looking to buy an RS6 C7 (2015 or newer) in the next few weeks and was hoping for advice from you kind gentlemen.

My budget is ideally low £40k’s but may have to up it.

Is there anything I should take into consideration before buying my dream car?

Many thanks

Also, when would you expect to start replacing things like the timing chain, water pump etc?

Hi Tag17,

Timing chain does not need replacing. I dont know about the waterpump? On my old C5 RS6 these were done as part of the cam belt change at 40K miles (if I remember correctly)?? I am sure someone else on here can advise better on this!

Personally I would rather an older car with lower miles but totally each to their own....

Nothing major to mention... I think the biggest choice is Air or DRC suspension.... again personal preference.... Just look and test drive a good few and you will soon see what you like?!

Cheers,
Lig.

I have ‘16 C7 RS6 PE.
* Air or DRC. If you want/need a tow bar you can only have air.
* Wheels. 20” or 21”. Some of the 21” designs have bad rep for buckling
* Lastly, at the price point you’re coming in at, worth checking when pads/discs need replaced and that it is on decent tyres.
