When you say the rears are custom, do you mean for you? Or will then be a production item??

Cheers,
Lig.

I’m sure they don’t just look good Image.

They’ll be a production item as I understand just takes time to produce but https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/ are on it Image

I have never had this with a new car. It always starts shortly after disc replacement which makes me think rushed hub preparation and improper seating - as mentioned above - is the main issue. And the bigger the discs, the greater the problem. The best discs in the world will eventually vibrate if not seated square on a clean hub.

Hi Lig,

Will do.

My brakes suffer there fate by me using my car over plenty A and B roads, something the cars not really designed for as big and heavy, the brakes take the damage on them roads which has lead to me changing them a little bit more frequent! :smile_smoking:

An update on my warped discs.

I wrote to Audi UK and complained about my warped front discs (fitted in October 2018 by Guildford Audi and having covered just over 6000 miles). Audi UK contacted Guildford Audi and suggested they change them - Audi Guildford refused. Audi UK stated they don't offer any 'goodwill' and the dealer's decision is final.

I'm not surprised. Audi Guilford must have decided that given I live in Devon they could afford to pass up this opportunity to do the right thing, given the low probability they'll see me again for my next car.

Well they got that right!! I'll not be buying anything from them again and will go out of my way to publicise their poor customer service.

So, I now need to have my discs skimmed / replaced and fit a new pair of pads. I refuse to buy Audi, so can anyone suggest an alternative?

Uplandsway: how are you getting on with your ABT's and racing pads?

Seasons greetings.

Chris

Hi Chris,

I`ve now sold car but the front VBT brake kit was great and they will soon have a solution for the rear.

Contact Mike @ VBT and he`ll sort you out. https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/all-cate ... 2012-2018/

Whatever you fit next time, be scrupulous about hub cleaning and torquing up etc.

Agree Mark, I'll find somewhere where I can watch or help and make sure they're spotless. C
