Poor performance?!

Not wishing to play the 'don't dis a Golf R card', these cars really shouldn't be underestimated.

Mine although only Stage 2 (with hardware) so pushing out about 410bhp, will comfortably & repeatably hit 0-60 in 3.2/3secs & although it will start to run out of puff once well over 100 & a C7 RS6 would pull very hard from North of 100, if only a quick race then a lightly tuned Golf R would give an RS6 a very good run for its money.

I was thinking the same. They might not have the big power but they are lighter and go well. And lots of tuned ones about.

I've had a tuned Golf R and it was incredibly fast and nimble, not RS6 Performance fast, but on UK roads I'd bet there wouldn't be much in it

I didn't notice when my turbos were going it was still pulling like a train, I got a warning light on then i got them checked and yes they were on their way out, Car is in just now getting the turbos replaced and the strainer, The weekend before i took the car i was racing another RS6 and was pulling away so i think his turbos must of been worse than mine!!

I think sometimes you don't realise how much performance you've lost until you've compared against something! Let's see what they find on mine.

Yeah definitely not under estimating them. I had 3 in the past and they are fast. Just didn't expect it lol

I also noticed when in sports gear mode , the revs aren't much more than 2.5k? Is that normal? I put into manual and seems much more power and pull?!

Are you saying that when in S it changes up just after 2.5K revs? It should go right up to the line and then change up? If so then it does sound like there is something wrong to me. Get it back to the dealer...

It will change up before the red line in Sport mode if you are not nailing it, not sure if as low as 2.5k though. But on WOT in Sport mode it should hit the red line.
